1997 limited rear axle not a 35 or a 44 hd what is it

Only the V8's had the D44A. The 4.0L's got the D35 rear.
If it's not one of those then a previous owner has switched it.

Appreciate it guys uh it is a v8 I know its not a 8.25 35 or 44 I own all 3 it seems pretty big

Could possibly be an 8.8 man. Especially if you know it's not a 44 or 35 and it's about the same width and bolt pattern.

The 8.8 i swapped in on mine looks a lot bigger than the 8.25 i had.
