All Grand Cherokee models 1999-2004 feature a Dana 30 front axle. just a fyi for your fluid when you are done, the Trac-lok and Vari-lok equipped axles require 2.5 ounces of Limited Slip Additive be added to the lubricant.

What makes you think you need to change the inner bearings, and have you ever done bearings in a differential?

Also wondering since I got it apart. Do I need to or should I replace other bearings, crush sleeve etc.? Advance auto has reg bearing kit and master bearing kit.

You shouldn't have to mess with the pinion gear unless the pinion bearings are shot too.

Ok got axles out and both bearings and races were shot. Took less than hr. Easier than thought. Can anyone tell me what the torque specs are on the 4 bolts?

alldata says 45ftlbs for the front diff bearing cap bolts. A online repair manual says 35-50ftlbs.
PDF, Down load of manual if you want it or others who search this.

There is no crush sleeve on a dana 30 just shims REPLACE ALL BEARINGS!! metal debris from your other bad bearings has been run in your differential and will cause premature failure of other said bearings.
