Default Slave cylinder question

Sooo, I've never replaced a slave cylinder but it doesn't look like rocket science but I'm confused about something. The video that I watched, the guy said to leave the plastic on, wouldn't that pose a problem or cause it not to work correctly?

Leave it on. Here is an bleeding tip for you. Hook up the flexible line, tip the cylinder down and run the plunger in and out a few times. It will be perfectly bled
