Amp bypass harness

Has anybody installed a amp bypass harness in a early gc i put one in mine because the amp wasnt working , i have tried a couple radios and it sounds the same like the amp isnt powering the speakers what am missing,

Thats what its supposed to do you plug it into the 2 amp plugs and run the harness up to the radio and splice the wires into the new radio . but it has no sound not unless all the speakers are blown i will probaly just run the wires directly to the speakers,

My 97 ZJ had a big bundle of taped slices under the back seat and an amp that was white with corrosion because the floor plate was open. The radio worked okay but you had to crank it way up to get any good sound out of it. Only the front speakers worked though.

I called metra today the maker of the harness they said one of the speakers is shorted out and its throwing the radio into protection mode
and thats why theres barely any sound . so tommorow ill pull the door panels and check each one with a multimeter till i find the bad one ,
