Default All my dash lights are dimming.

Sometimes my dash lights will flicker/dim on their own. Never lasts more than a few seconds.
I cant figure what may be causing this other than bad grounding. Sometimes it will follow a stomp on the gas pedal.

I am replacing the alternator soon.

If anyone has dealt with this before, please help me out.

If yours still has the slide dimmer switch, it's probably the dimmer's getting funky. Normal for ZJ's.

I'll try a replacement. Thanks.
This is a much easier solution than tracing bad "grounds"

Mine still does that after my alternator replacement. I think it is just loose or bad wiring. If you figure it out let me know.

Bad connection? Yes and it's in the wiper contact inside the dimmer switch. Been there! I fixed mine for awhile by taking it off and spraying it well with plastic-safe electrical cleaner, working the slider back and forth, blowing it out with air, and putting it back in. 97 ZJ. Mine would blink out and in desperation I hit the dash with my fist! they popped back on for awhile.

Next time my husband and I have a few a few days off we are going to take the dash apart and get our radio back where it needs to be. He got into an argument with a ditch and the ditch won and during the radio sunk into the dash a bit. oops.

If you have not fixed this issue I will let you know I ran across a Link for the repair(below). I have tried it and it seems to have worked but to be honest I only did the fix this morning, it's still light out and well I'm at work so actually testing the issue will be over the next few days.
