Default Air bag Sensor

I have a 99 Grand Chrokee, the airbag sensor comes on stays on for a few seconds then goes back off. It may come back on in 300 yards or 30 miles very random but a left turn almost always triggers it. I had it looked at at a shop they said the clock spring was fine and tried a used air bag but it didn't help. From what I read here the left turn thing makes me think it's a clock spring problem. What do you think ?

I think you're right in thinking it's the clockspring. It'sthe only moving part in the whole airbag system that can wear out or fail.

I had my air conditioner worked on this summer and they tore out all of the dash and half of the interior and the problem started right after I got it back. I kept thinking that it was a bad or loose connection. Would have taken it back right away but the owner of the shop was such a D... that I wont' do business with him again. Working with a different shop now but would like to trouble shoot this thing before I have the price of a new Jeep in fixing the one I have.

Welcome to CF.
Here's the fuse box diagram for the WJ's. There's 2 fuses for the Airbags: F32, & F33, both 10 Amp red fuses. Scroll down.>http://www.wjjeeps.com/fuses.htm
And here's a diagram showing the WJ's various control modules, including the Airbag Module which is under the center console, behind the shifter. The connector could be loose/damaged. Click on the pics to enlarge it.> http://www.wjjeeps.com/modules.htm
Hope this helps.
