Default 99 Grand Cherokee Wheel Spacers

Forgive me if this is all over the place on this forum. I'm looking for pics of a 99 Grand Cherokee, with stock wheels plus wheels spacers. I'm trying to decide what thickness spacer to go with.

Why would you want spacers if you have the correct wheels on your 99 WJ, they are Band-Aids for improper wheels on something. Plus the fact an area for problems after installing, if you want a wider tire you also need a wider rim also.

I have proper tires and rims. Going for a wider stance.

Im gonna say its more for looks or he didn't get enough BS. And the only bad thing spacers really cause is more stress on the ball joints. but that stress is negligible when compared to the stress caused by running huge tires.

The major problem with wheel spacers is they move the center of load outboard of the hub bearing, causing extreme stress on the bearings.

An extreme case of this is a friend of mine flew to San Diego and bought a custom 55 Chevy with "chrome reversed" wheels on it. He hit the road back to Syracuse NY and got as far as Phoenix before a wheel came off at the axle! The bearings got so hot they melted!

Have you even checked the price of quality spacers, not the junk but good ones? They cost as much as a set of steel wheels for your WJ several hundred dollars at the least, then are you prepared to keep them maintained required when you have them installed. You have to remove the tires/wheels then re-tq all the bolts for them as they do work loose and have caused accidents.

I went with Rough Country 1.5". Got them at cost plus discount through the off road shop I work at. Much cheaper than steel wheels that would not have looked nearly as nice as the '07 Wrangler wheels I have on it now. Mechanics at the shop helped me put them on. Nothing to this garage, its our specialty. Just didn't know what thickness to go with for the look I wanted.
