Hey guys i am looking a purchasing a used Cherokee overland. with the 4.7 orginal owner it is super clean inside and out with a couple of minor issues small dent in the back passenger quarter panel that it think will pop out easy if i can get to the back side of it. it has 200k miles but new engine was installed at 172k owner has all paperwork and engine is still under warenty. driver side mirror looks like it was hit and the housing has a crack in it. Fully loaded with GPS and Video system in the back. new fuel pump was added in Dec. has a bad blend door so it works but makes some noise while reseting after car turned off. i crawled under it today and could not find any signs of leaks or other issues brakes look like the they were upgraded to vented roters. it drove fine lots of power and shifted fine. Owner said he will get it smogged if i want it. anything i should be on the look out before buying it? he is asking 3200

I have the exact same yr model 200,000+ mi. runs like a top and everything works fine original owner I bought it from all service work/oil changes done by Jeep from day one.


There are 2 recent recall notices on them the first was for the gas tank issue. Mine came with a factory Class IV hitch installed so it passed and they gave me my $100 for bringing it in. The second more recent and still waiting for parts it is for air bag recalls don't know what ones front or side. When I first bought it 5 yrs ago one recall had not been done at that time, the seat heaters were replaced for me when checked by the dealer.


Mine also has every option offered by Jeep for that year and I really like the 4.7HO engine in it the original one with zero oil use of any kind in 6mo./6,000mi. The 3.73 gears with the ft & rear lsd are great also.

i see you use your to tow, what do you tow and how does it do? wife wants to use it to tow my 01 TJ that we run trails with. its a good rig but we dont take it on long trips that often only things that are 2-3 hours away.

My XJ I do have the factory towing package Class IV hitch, trans/oil/steering coolers, 3.73 gears. My race car trailer is all steel with built-in under floor lockable toolbox/spare tire area, winch, surge brakes both axles, 18' dove tail. It tows the XJ/trailer very well considering what it is not like behind the Diesel Pusher MH or the F-350 Crew Cab PS we have. But its still cool pulling a jeep with another one to a trail.....Till a sharp Jeep PU pulls in with a jeep behind it lol.
