Just picked up a 99 xj classic 2wd with 172k. Runs ok and drove it for a few days with no issues. Today I noticed that the tranny was leaking fluid. The leak seems to be coming from the front of the tranny leading me to believe it may be the pump seal/front seal. I don't feel confident in doing transmission work so I was wondering if anyone could give me a ballpark price for getting something like this fixed at a reputable tranny shop? I don't have any price gauge on something like this so it would be nice to know if the prices shops are going to quote me are reasonable or not.
