Default 98 transmission

my buddy got in a wreck in his 98 gc and he is about to take the money he got from parting it out and buy a 93 gc but the problem is the 93 needs a tranny. so i was wondering if the 98 transmission would fit into the 93. they both have a 5.2l V8

thanks, Cody

The 93 uses a 46RH and the 98 uses a 44RE. Different transmissions.

I'm the guy that needs the transmission. The V6 and V8 use two different transmissions. I have been readying ALOT of forums and people say its hard to swap a 44re for a 46rh. Is it even possible since one is hydrolic and one is electric?
