A week ago I bought a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.2 V8. At the time it needed a new alternator. It ran a little strangely, and I figured it was the alternator's fault. Replaced the alternator after I bought it and it seemed to work fine. Then, driving home, it stalled at a light. As soon as I took my foot off the brake to start moving forward it died. Got it started a few seconds later and pulled over. Pretty much over the last few days it will do that, but then it will also stall just going down the road, mostly when I'm not giving it gas. Sometimes it will turn over and not start. Sometimes it will start and die right away. Sometimes going down the road, the engine will cut out and all the electricity will be cut for a split second(like lights, gauges, everything will go off). Most of the time when that happened it come right back on and starts running fine.
I don't thing its the throttle position sensor or camshaft sensor cause of the electricity problems. Maybe bad computer? I have also been told it may be the alarm system that's malfunctioning and that will sometimes make everything turn off. Other things that are wrong with the car are, the radio won't turn on at all (no lights or display), it has no radio antenna, the AC and heat fan doesn't work and the display for those doesn't turn on at all, and the left tail light won't turn on but both bulbs look in great shape. I've tried to retriave codes but all I get is code 12 saying that the battery and or computer have been disconnected within the last 50 starts, which I did both of those things. I have only replaced the alternator.
I have school starting in a week and need a car to drive. I really don't want to go part swapping and wasting money. So, any thoughts? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
A very good starting point is to remove, inspect, clean, then tighten all the power and ground connections in the engine compartment. Disconnect the battery negative lead first.
I have gotten the codes. So far all that comes up is code 12. Trying to borrow a voltmeter from a friend to run some tests. Honestly, I'm completely lost.

The code 12 means: 12 memory to controller has been cleared within 50-100 engine starts

So long story short I checked the grounds and alarm and they are all working fine. Replaced the computer and the new one is now giving me code 32 (faulty EGR). I've read that's either defective EGR valve or defective EGR solenoid or Canister purge/EGR solenoid. So, which problem with the EGR would make it randomly stall? I'm not thinking a stuck valve would do that so I'm leaning toward the solenoid. Thoughts?
The EGR was not the problem. I had accidentally unplugged it (or it came lose) and that's why it gave the code. So, I have a new PCM, new crankshaft position sensor, new fuel filter. All of that still doesn't fix my problem. I've checked all the grounds I can find, which was three. The one from the battery to the side of the fender and the two on the firewall behind the engine. Am I missing some? Could a relay be causing the problem? Perhaps the auto shut down relay?
Also, some of these relays are Ford relays. One of the Ford relays is in the spot for the auto shut down. Will those work there? Or did someone screw these up?
