any major concerns to be looking out for?
Also whats a good price for it? 2002 105k 4.0 4x4 17" wheels, leather power heated seats, sunroof infinity sound, compass/temp, step up bars, and of course power everything?
Thanks!

Yeah i know right! I get like 15-16 with my ZJ. That is what he said sooo. Do not really know much about WJs but i havent seen much to worry about. Going to price ummmm idk that is alot of miles but it is still a 4.0 and they last forever. But i would say anything from 6-8 maybe.

Great looking Jeep you've got. Any WJ info I need I go to this site. http://www.wjjeeps.com/index.htm Go on there and check Recalls. Specially Heated Seats, and 4.0 Eng man. fix.
A lot of info there.

Well the deal didn't go through, i noticed a slight hesitation in the shifting, and asked him about, he gave a quick answer and try to tell me there was a shift kit installed?
took it for another drive it seemed it got worse from the 1-2 and 2-3...
so i had to pass.

Too bad it didn't go through. On our '04 WJ, which we bought new, we've had to take it back to the dealer on several occasions, under warranty, for symptoms similar to what you describe. Delayed shifts. Early shifts. Each time they reflashed the TCM (transmission control module) using a computer (?) at the dealers service dept.. We were told it learns and adapts to your driving style; city, highway, towing, hills, faster take-offs. It's true that the car shifts differently if I take it after a long spell of the wife's driving it exclusively. It shifts earlier when she's been driving it. After I've had it for awhile the shift points go up about 500 RPMs higher. When I return it, it relearns her somewhat lethargic style of driving once she drives it for awhile. It's been that way since new. 84,000 miles now. Ours is not unusual, but to me it's just a very strange system having a TCM in charge of the shift points for me. Or being able to change same so easily!

That is different, but these shifts were at the right time, just gave a real hard jerk especially 1-2, and this guy was to shady and had to have known about it, but pretended like he didn't feel it, wasted my 3 hours of driving in near white out (yes white out in april thats cleveland for you. even saw a couple people off the side of the road) to go see it really ticks me off people cant be honest.
Oh and not to mention, he forgot to say both front speakers were blown and just made a horrible noise, and he had an old battery that barely started the car (i saw a couple brand new battery's he had sitting in his shop)

It's a shame you had to pass on a nice car at a good price. Too bad you couldn't get it and fix those minor issues. To hell with the dealer, you weren't getting a warranty anyway. Once the deal's done you don't have to see him again. It was a sharp Grand! Oh well. You'll find another.

It was nice, but ill find another one with some less miles... most of the problems i could care less, but the tranny was definitely unusual, no other grand cherokee, or well any car i've ever driven had that hard of a pop. (i spent $1700 on the rebuild of WRXs tranny, and im not about to do that again)

I paid $2,400 for a crate tranny for my '97 ZJ Orvis. It is so clean you can still see the inspectors paint markings from the factory when it was built. I won't even start on how much I've spent on my GLHT's! Most people think they're just "very loud, very nice looking Omni's". Name: burnout.gif
