Default 1996 Grand Cherokee Head swap

I've got a 1996 grand Cherokee with a cracked cylinder head, I've also got a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport with a good tupy head on it. I'm trying to find out if I can swap the tupy head off the XJ and throw it on the ZJ without any issues. I've got everything here I would need to refresh the head and a new head gasket for it with the ARP kit. In the middle of stripping things off the 2001 XJ before it goes to scrap so a quick response would be appreciated. Thanks so much

It's not a good swap. The 2000 head has differences in port sizes etc. sell that Tupy and get the proper one for your 96.

Could this be solved by using the XJ intake and Exhaust header? Everything else is virtually the same on paper other than that.

Well I'm going to give it a shot since I've got nothing to lose at this point

The XJ uses a split cast iron exhaust manifold with 2 cats and 4 02 sensors. The exhaust ports are smaller than the 0630 has, but the intake fits. I see no reason why the 96 exhaust header wouldn't fit the TUPY head since it should cover the ports well enough to not leak.
