i have a 2001 jeep cherokee xj with california emissions i think. it has two small cats and 4 o2 sensors. i was thinking of finding a older xj like 95 and swaping the heads. wondering if anyone has done something like this. also would i be able to run single cat emission set-up then.

... every 2001 came like that theres no way around it..

as for the head, that head flows the best out of all of them.. the valve sits higher in the head ( ram air ) 2001 motor is maxed out..

what do you mean by "maxed out"? is the head not interchangable. i have a 2001 xj with a cracked head, most likley. but also have a 7210 head in the garage off another motor and wanted to see if a swap was possible. or if it is cheaper to get a beefed up version for the 2001 since there may be certin mods to make the 7210 work. i have heard that 96-98 heads with 0630 casting work but you have to fab something for the coil bar to bolt to the head
