Default 04 overland wj new radiator, tstat, cap over heating now

Didn't over heat before swapping it all out. Thought I got all the air bleed out of it. But now it overheats while idling and whatever I try to drive it. Never let it get over three quarters of gauge I can cool it back down to a fairly normal temperature with a garden hose flowing through the radiator and condenser thought I got all the air out I stop getting bubbles to the bleeder not sure what's wrong

Keep it simple....is the cooling fan coming on?

Uses a s8ngle hydraulic fan driven off the power steering pump and yes it comes on and speeds up as the motor heats up

You didn't install the thermostat backwards, did you?

I was positive that I didn't but now I'm not so sure that's the first thing I'm checking I'm a go ahead and slap the original thermostat back in it since I know it worked before

Good move! Once in awhile a bad thermo gets thru quality control. Funny, I get the Rockauto Monthly Newsletter and this month's trivia question was "What is a 'Jiggle Pin'?" Answer? A pin installed in the air bleed hole of a thermostat designed to eliminate deposits from blocking the vent. I haven't seen a jiggle pin in a really LONG time!

Huh! Overlapping posts!

You must have the 4.7 right? The Stant Superstat for my 4.0 has neither. #45359. I ordered an extra one just to have it on hand. Why don't they include a gasket anymore? Because they fit a lot of different stuff.
