Btw: how are you liking those tires?
How do you look out though with 4points? I always felt like they would be a hassle.

And I LOVE these tires. Great on road performance, and have gotten me through everything I have needed to get through on the trails. Not to mention, I have about 4-5k on them and they still have the whiskers and are showing barely any wear (except one because i needed an alignment for a long time).

One thing I also like about them is how they are so true in size. My 31's measure 31 on the nose mounted but not on the jeep. My next set will be 33's.

4 points: You learn to cope. And you learn where your jeep is in relation to your driving position.

My previous daily driver had 4 points. I LOVED them; the security they afford is second to none, and when coupled with a seat that actually supports/ retains you... simply wonderful. I know I feel 100% better after a day on the trail. I'm not tired and sore.

I'd rather see someone back up and reposition due to a bad line selection, than be leaning out the window/ door at a poor time and pay the ultimate price.

AND when worn properly, if (when) you roll, the harness will help keep you inside the vehicle.

Bottom line: Things can go bad in SECONDS. Be safe out there. Buckle up EVERY TIME the jeep is moving.

That makes sense. Yeah I definitely dont wanna be out of the jeep when it rolls

First and foremost....dont laugh at me if I say something wrong or something that wont work. I am still learning what I am about to tell ya'll. In my recent trip to rausch I got some motivation to try and go to the next level...pretty quickly lol.

Ok, I know plans change but here is what I want to do around the end of my college career...unless I find good deals and have money. I might start this project early if my bike sells (if/when I try selling it in the spring)

HP Dana44 for the front
Dana60 for the rear. OR a 44 instead...

Both from a 78 Ford f250. Or something else that will work. I wanna buy it, take the axles, then part/scrap the rest.

Front:
Total axle overhaul. Geared to 4.56 or 4.88 (discuss). Armored and Locked. New brakes/joints/knuckles and all that ****. I will most likely buy The TNT truss with both upper control arm mounts, HD lower CA mounts, OTK Track bar bracket, and the HD coil buckets with shock studs for either a Waggy 44 or HP 44. Depending on which axle I end up with. That will be a big chunk of change but totally worth it

Rear:
44 or 60. I am leaning towards a 60 just because if I ever decide to just go strictly trail rig I wanna run 37's...but I really wanna DD it as long as possible so 35's will be what i stay with, and running a 60 will most likely require 37s for decent diff clearance. So 44 is probably what I will end up with. I am gunna gear to 4.56 or 4.88 (remember...discuss), armor it, ruff stuff shock mounts, and disc brakes. Putting a shock hoop in the rear and running my shocks through my floor may be an option as well...but I guess it's not really that important unless I 4 link it and do coilovers...which may happen. But thats a whole other project that I havent reasearched AT ALL.

As far as steering goes? OTK. I dont wanna get into 37's due to hydro assist. But I wont go into detail with everything else because I havent researched it enough and I would just end up looking dumb.

So basically...bike needs to go and I need to get axles, a welder or a great friend who will let me use their welder for beer (since chances are I will be 21 when this gets tied together...unless I am feeling ambitious this summer) and some $!

Weellppp, wheeling is done for a while now that college is in full swing and I am 3 hours away from rausch. Local wheeling WILL happen though 8)

Just ordered 5-760x Spicers for my d30, unit bearings, and axle shims. That should help alot of my problems. I rebuilt my rear DS too.

I am planning a trip to MOAB in 2014

So here's what needs to be done before then

Front:
D30 Geared to 4.56
D30 Skidded
JCR 1 ton Steering

Rear:
Either 29 spline 8.25 (of mine is 29 spline), Ford 8.8, or Waggy 44 in the rear geared to 4.56

35" Tires. Preferably Kevlars or KM2's.

Build a Np231/D300 doubler and sell my SYE'd 231

Build front and rear bumpers both with side protection.

Cut and Fold Rear Quarters

MAYBE rocker replacement by then. I want to do this because then I can start a cage. I dont want to go out there without some type of overhead protection.

This is gunna be tough on a college budget...:/

Ok so it has been a LONG time since I updated this pig. I've been going through some tough times with her. Trying to balance school and...well school. Lol. I'm going for mechanical engineering so I am very busy. Scrounged up some christmas money + help from the parents to get it safe on the street again.

So here is what I was looking at in the beginning of my christmas break.

1. Broken Headlight bezel + corner marker+ other stuff around there thanks to a tree. Fixed for $10 thanks to the JY
2. Running AWFULLY. It would sputter out all the time especially under throttle. Threw a TPS CEL. Replaced it with AAP TPS sensor that was 40 bucks. Didnt do anything. Threw the same code. Replaced plugs and wires for ****s a gigs. Didnt help. Put one from a junkyard in there. Runs better than ever.
3. Horrible Vibes - not fixed...yet
4. Broken arm rest on passenger side. Getting alot of complaints from the women who ride shotty in my Heep. I guess opening the window to close the door every time is annoying? - Fixed for $1 thanks to the JY
5. Tailpipe fell off and wrapped around my axle. My muffler was all chucked up and rattling against my unibody like a ****. Got a tailpipe from a muffler shop for 55 walk out, and a muffler of the ebay for 35 shipped. Put her all together and it sounds decent, but even better, it DOESNT TOUCH ANYWHERE. Ahhhhhh sweet sweet silence.

That was all up until today.

I set my toe in when i did the LA's but i must have done it HORRIBLY wrong because I had 1.5" toe in!! I did it really quick cause I was in a hurry to get it done apparently... I was noticing EXTREME wear in my front tires and it was alllll over the road so I wanted to tackle that today as well as some other odds and ends

Here's what I did today after going to the junkyard and scoring some bumpstops, extra sensors, that arm rest i stated above, and
1. Set the toe in to 1/8" then adjusted pitman arm accordingly.
2. Drooped axle to see what was binding. Turn out it is the lower track bar mount. Needs some grinding love
3. Dropped coils and installed coil isolators (1$) and s-10 blazer bumpstops ($2)
4. Tightened everything that was visible.

I'll tell you...this thing is riding like a damn caddillac right now minus the vibes. I couldn't find a driveshaft at the JY this morning so thats whats stopping me from having no vibes. Either that, pinion angle, or transmission mounts.

Tested out the bumpstops at a local spot. Hit these decent sized whoops (that usually give me some trouble) doing like....55mph haha. I was shocked how well these things work. They are so progressive. There was never a hard hit, just a softening. I am VERY pleased for 2 bucks. My buddy spotted them on our way out of the JY and i grabbed em.
Bumptoppage

RTV goodness

Sexy Fit

I need to trim my track bar mount

mmmmm

Full Droop

Another Look

Mmmmmmmmm too tall to crawl

So, obviously this thing is WAY too tall. My spring break goal is to have money to build a bastard pack that will net me 3.5" of lift. Then I am going to sell my RC packs (I really dont like how short they are...my shackle angle is awful even with a longer shackle) and use that money to buy shackle relocation boxes. I should be sitting at ~4-5 inches then which will be golden for my next set of tires in a year or two. Skinny 33x10.5 KM2s

Next up? GET A JOB WHEN I GET BACK TO SCHOOL

I hope I didnt miss anything. Sorry it's not that cool. I just dont have money. Rocker replacements are in the near future though. And maybe some tube fenders. I have the itch to fab...alot

Id suggest leave the height till everything settles...

And maybe till you put some different meats on? I had some serious clearance issues with small tires, a little extra height doesnt hurt. Once you get some 33s on, then drop her down a bit.

My 2 cents
