6 weeks ago I purchased a gently used 1998 XJ 2wd. 128000 miles, 4.0 automatic. The body is in good condition but, it needed some mechanical TLC.
New Timing chain and gears
4 new ball joints
New front hub/bearing assemblies.
New Radiator
New water pump & thermostat
New electric cooling fan
Complete tune up, plugs, cap rotor and wires.
All new sensors, ACV, MAP, TPS, and both up and down stream O2 sensors.
All fluids changed.
Next I moved onto the stuff from the I want list.
LED Head Lights
CURT trailer hitch.
3" budget lift, spacers and shackles.
15x8 Ultra 5051's Silver with 3.75" back spacing.

t she is looking like today!
Yes you are correct, 3" spring spacer up front and 2" shackles in the rear. I ordered a dropped pitman arm that should be here this week to ease the stress on the steering angle.
Yes, currently scoping out some 4x4 XJ's locally as an axle and diff donor. Here in the Southern tip of FL there are some nice rust free XJ's with high miles pretty cheap.
