Well...been a bit. Those who know, know. Much drama, but being dealt with...
Anyways, here's what's been snappening.
Started doing the ball joints. Got stymied after the driver side upper. Lower will NOT budge. Tried heat, hammer, you name it...nothing.
So decided to switch gears FTM...prepped the rest of the jeep for primer and undercoating...as follows:
Where I got with the ball joint/knuckle removal

HF press I got...which got out the upper, but not the lower before it succumbed...threads are jacked. Gotta regroup, the lower isn't budging...also gonna do the passenger side, get it as far as I can before making a decision...mat take it to work and use the 20 ton press...

So, I decided it was time to finish the stiffies off with a coat or two of protection. Primered first, then touched up the 3 link brackets...

Decided to paint the crossmember support while it was out.

Whilst the paint was drying, I added some HP...I am not a sticker guy. But I guess I am converting...they made me add the spectator stickers at the Hammers, so I figured, WTF...BTW Pete, the CF stickers? They were the oldest I had...went on zero issues...they must be making them out of crap now.

Then I put on the undercoating. Turned out nice. FWIW, I used my needle scaler and got all the old grime/undercoating out first, then used a degreaser, primed, and undercoated. It took 4 cans (so far)

Anyways, that's it for now. Axle is now the tall pole. Will get it dealt with, then the front should be close...while the knuckles are out they will be reamed for 1 ton TRE's, as will the pitman arm (thanks bubba), and it shouldn't be long before I can wrap it up, minus the brake lines and springs, then move on to the rear...psyched.

Nice progress. I went through three HF ball joint presses on one axle. Threads turned into metal shavings very quickly. Go rent one from your local auto parts store. Its usually free and its a solid tool.

Haven't been on due to limited connectivity, long story. However, if it becomes an issue, I can always weld it up later. At this point I just want my wheels back, LOL

If I don't do that, I might take it to work and just use the shop press...gotta happen soon tho, cuz I'm gettin' close to stuffing the axle back in.
