This is going to be a slow build as I'll be adding to my XJ as money permits. I'm basing this build on using my XJ as a daily driver and my Bug out vehicle.

I've already added a set of white led flashing lights to the front bumper and grille, a custom made grub box with a stove built into the lid for the cargo area and installed a rear trailer hitch made by hidden hitch that I salvaged from a 1987 XJ.

I plan to brace and strengthen the frame, install a front facing trailer hitch, 2-3 inch lift, fog/flood lights to the front bumper and a pair of work lights to the rear, and eventually build and install a pair of custom bumpers

 

This is what I started with late last month when I purchased my XJ used.
It has a slight tilt in the picture since the tires where not properly inflated by the dealer

 

Later that week I installed my CB radio antenna.

Well got some new decals for christmas

 

Well I found out why my power locks and windows would cut in and out. in the door jam the wires leading into the door had become worn with time. The speaker wires had become broken and the hot wire for the control module had separated with only a small section of the insulation holding it together. soldered the wires back together and now its working fine again

 

Your build sounds a bit like mine daily driver, 3" lift, front and rear hitch, front and rear light bars, and limited budget haha all too familiar to most of us

 

I can't stop looking at all of the stuff I want but cannot afford..... Backbone bumper system, JcrOffroad DIY Front Winch Bumper, Light bars, etc

 

How'd you mount the CB on the headliner?

 

1 inch wide 1/16 inch thick aluminum flat stock. the cb mount is bolted to the stock and the stock is held up by the visor retainer clip screws.

Looking at replacing my radio tomorrow or in the next few days before I start my new job. Going to replace it with one that has bluetooth and a remote control.

Also thinking about painting by tie rod and such red like I did my rear diff cover
