but you also have to remember the v10 out of a truck although is a complete brute!! is not a 'viper' engine the viper is an aluminum block , the truck is a cast iron block, cast crank ect. viper has 4.00 x3.96 stroke while truck is 4.00 x3.88 stroke these differences severly cut back the horsepower in the truck but keep a lot of the torque (A LOT) lol but also there are 4 different generations of viper engines while only one of the Rams V10

Very true.

Part of my reason behind doing a V10 is for the torq. I'd rather have tons of torq in a trail rig..

Hmmm... Jeep body, dodge motor, Ford axles, Hummer rims, interior/ exo cage, nick_n_ii do I sense a deep personal upset with Chrysler for not making the cherokee a full size frame on body vehicle? Just kidding lol. Nice combination of available resources. Forget thinking out side the box, try stomping all over it. Can't wait to see it!

Only thing I can think of doing to this other than already Mentioned is separating the body and making a Frame.

Thought about it, but with the planned cage work it will be more stiff than with a full cage..

just curious where did you find that the 8.0 only weighs 700 lbs?? i believe that would be the aluminum viper version the truck v10 is close to 1100 lbs i believe. I may be wrong just trying to help you so you dont run into some spring issues

Ahhhh... The AMC way... aka the RIGHT way. One idea, if I may, I think it'd be cool to run a dual inlet intake and make dual snorkels. Never seen it done before, so I figured it fit in perfectly with the rest of the build.
