That's why I'm going with the 8.8 swap instead of the 8.25. I have one with disc brakes already on it

Nice! Most of my friends have thrown 8.8's under their XJs. I don't really have access to a welder or want to necessarily bother them to do it for me, and I dare to challenge the 8.25 29spl with some 35's and probably a locker at some point. It will be built up real nice when I'm done with it. Fully refinished, 4.88 gears, maybe a Powertrax, ZJ disc conversion.....ahhhh can't wait

How's that 8.8 coming along, Swirly? Or did I miss that on the thread lol

Hasn't even started yet. Still sitting in my buddy's shop, collecting dust. Tonight was all about rear shoes, extended bumpstops and a few adjustments to the track bar. I'm gonna be dragging my *** at work tomorrow...

Baby needed a new pair of shoes

My rear diff has been leaking for a few days (smells great when it hits the exhaust ) I finally got around to changing the pinion seal this afternoon. Now for the bad news, I've thrown a cyl 3 misfire code 4 times in two months on am 03331 head . Hopefully it's a leaky injector, if not I'll be ordering a head next week.

Fingers crossed!

Anytime I do drum brakes I always get a spring kit. Why use old crap hardware when a spring is like 7 bucks. Any more info about this disc brake conversion you fellas are talking about? It's a kit? I'm coming up on time for new shoes in my jeep

go pull the whole assembly including the backing plaes of a dana 35 zj you have to widen out the hole in the back plate for the c 8.25 abit but other wise ist 100% bolt on.

So, I somehow managed to break not one but two of the steering box bolts. Made an awesome sound, but now I gotta fix it. Just like anything else on an XJ, when u break it, you upgrade it. V8 Durango box going in this week

I already broke two bolts while wheeling so I'm ahead of the game lol. I couldn't see wasting hours getting the broken bolts out when I got the Durango box new for $80.
