Sorry man, but this is getting ridiculous.

You are throwing time and money into this thing, but in all the wrong places.

Get it running FFS. Obviously you can't get it done. Take it somewhere that can. Don't use the trackbar as an excuse. Put the damn thing on a trailer and take it to a shop. Hopefully you haven't FUBAR'D it too much and they can fix it with no to little issue. Focus on the basics first, get it running, and running right, THEN do the cool stuff.

I've watched this build for a while. Your rig is a hacked up mess. That said, it is your ride.

Spend your hard earned money foolishly if you want to.

Personally, I would focus on getting it running before all the other crap. Just my .02.

Sorry for the harshness. But I hate to see a good cherokee go to waste.

Running is what I've been trying to do. I replaced the out dated renix ignition system, with a system that would work with my computer. If I took it to a shop before swapping the renix fly wheel guarantee they never would have found the problem. Renix fly wheel works with renix injection system, which I do not have. I finally got spark back, it's not strong spark, but it's present unlike before. Meaning I have to trace it back starting at the plugs to the icm and then to the cps. I'm working in both getting it running and getting it ready for trails. I appreciate your input though.

The Renix system was basically GM sourced components making it really easy to test and diagnose with nothing more than a test light and multi-meter.

Now I saw you think the distributer is off by 180°. The distributer needs to be indexed (timed) into the block a certain way. I will post a diagram later tonight for you provided you can give me the year of your engine & distributer (as there are three different methods per years). SEE BELOW.

Now for your engine lesson on the Jeep I-6. Turning the distributer on the 4.0L does nothing but throw the ECU's timing off. The ECU fully controls the ignition timing unlike older engines. There is a sensor inside the distributer that controls the injector timing. Mess with turning the dist too much and you throw injector timing off. If you are getting spark, then your CPS is functioning fine.

90s block with a 92 distributor. All the sensors and computer are 92. The thing with using a test light in my case is I have spark, but it's very weak. So in theory the light wouldn't help as much as a multimeter would in this case. But yea if you could get those diagrams it would be much appreciated

I know they aren't pretty lol, it was a long night and I just haven't gotten around to grinding them off and fixing them as it isn't a top priority currently

So timing was definitely off. Got cylinder one set at tdc, and by that point the rotor is between plug 1 and 4. So spark is getting to the cylinder after its already started its way down. Getting that set then pulling out the multimeter and casing spark signal to find what's off

So got the timing set, went to try and crank it before I tried testing spark. And well we got something!! Letting the battery charge up as every time the jeep goes to roll over the battery doesn't have the juice to start it since its been sitting awhile. But it's trying to roll over instead of just cranking and cranking

I have no faith in a car battery that has been fully depleted. Might want to have it load tested.

It's got a brand new battery... One of the first things I did. 10 degree weather while it was sitting outside without it being plugged in doesn't help...

Seems to slowly be holding more charge. It warmed up quite a bit here, so this may be my window. I'm gonna charge it while I clean the cps off and do a few other things. If it doesn't hold, I'll take it in tomorrow to have it load tested and if it's bad they'll warranty me a new one
