I didn't re gear due to budget restraints, but that is in the future for the Jeep.

I was under the assumption you wouldn't need to remove the carrier to put in a lunchbox locker with 3.55 and lower gearing.

I thought so too, but we needed to remove it to get to certain parts easier. The Powertrax didn't require removing the carrier though. Both were still not too complicated. I'm glad I had the help of my mechanic friend and his lift.

My front axle is a Dana 30, and we installed an Aussie locker in that. The rear is now a Chrysler 8.25, and we installed a Powertrax No-slip locker in that one.

Its coming together nicely. How bad was it getting that steering spacer on?

It wasn't too bad, but if it wasn't for the help from my friend, and all his tools and lift, I'm sure it would've been more tricky.

Well, there's noise coming from the carrier bearing and pinion bearing, so we have to send it to a specialist to replace those because my friend doesn't have the tools needed. I'll post updates as soon as it's fixed and on the road. Can't wait for my baby to be rolling again...

Got some JKS mini skids, OME trim spacers, and RE extended bumpstops for when I upgrade to 33 inch tires.

Small update: My alternator went out so I replaced it with a new 136 amp alternator. Luckily my battery was still good. The Jeep's running real nice now. I have to get out to the trails soon!

Parts update: I have ordered a Skid Row TC skid plate for my np242. It should be coming in the next few weeks, then I'll post pics of the install and everything. Gotta get armored up for spring wheeling!

Repair update: My water pump went out and threw off the serpentine belt, so I had that all fixed, and my oil pan gasket was ready to tear in half, so that was replaced as well and an oil change was done at the same time. It's running well now, but I'll need to get a new muffler soon, and one of my transmission lines might need replacing soon. Just trying to make sure everything is good to go before spring wheeling comes around!
