Jeep is in the shop. I was on my way to go 4 wheeling, and something got messed up with my driveshaft. It sounded like an impact wrench going off under the Jeep. I turned around and carefully drove it back to STL. Now it's at the shop close to my parent's house getting fixed. Super bummed, hope it's nothing horrible.

Totally. I brought it to a Dobbs that my parents go to, and they couldn't fix it because my Jeep is too modified for them to figure out, lol. So, I'll be bringing it to my friend's shop on Monday, and he'll figure it out. I think in the next couple weeks, I'm going to take a day trip to Potawatomi off road park to make up for missing out today. Tony and Tommy, if either of you would like to join, let me know and we can organize something.

I hope its nothing major. When you first described what happened, I thought it was maybe a u joint. But since you were able to drive it back, I dont know. If the noise continued it could be the rear end going bad. I have had one go like that. Any idea what it is?

Well, it was the rear end. Luckily I found a Chrysler 8.25 on Craigslist for $125! I'm going to pick it up today. I also ordered a Powertrax no slip diff for it. So I'll be set soon!

Yeah, I had a feeling the diff was going bad because it has a limited slip, but the tires would still spin opposite directions when it was on the lift. Honestly if it didn't break, I would've kept the 35 on there for a while. This is gonna be a little expensive, but I'll have a beefier axle, solid diff cover for it, and a powertrax no slip diff, so I'm pretty happy.
