Or a nifty new welder, just sayin

Well, they would need to be cut from the bumper, and I don't want to risk damaging the bumper mounts. It just seemed like too much work for little benefit.

Yeah I hear ya, I never get away with just one cut, always ends up being more work than anticipated

Pics from MWJT member run! I bent my nerf bars, and bent a tie rod, but made it home safe. I did moderate to hard trails, and I had the smallest lift and tires in the whole group, but I made it through some really tough parts! Climbed some ledges, went over downed trees, and put the Jeep to the test. Only needed to get pulled once, but so did guys with 35 inch tires in this one section where we all needed help.

33 inch tires are definitely on the "need" list now. Also, rocker guards and skid plates are the first and most important thing I'll be getting next.

Yeah it was! There's open wheeling at Wa****a on November 29th, that should be cool. I am definitely getting some 32x11.5r15 tires once my 31's wear out. I also think fender trimming is in my near future. I'm glad I didn't bang up the body of my XJ at all. There were definitely some close calls, and really tight spots were trees pushed my side mirrors in, lol. Overall I'm really impressed with how my XJ performed. We wound up doing every trail on the property except for one of the extreme ones.

Wish I could do the Nov 29 run. Gonna be in OK visiting our son at Ft Sill.

If you want a hand with the trimming/folding, let me know. Just did ours a few weeks ago.

Good time out on Sat... I was wondering how you were doing with the moderate group. Nice job out there. You could easily fit 32's or 33's with some trimming.

Those were some pretty fun trails... even the 'easy' one got a bit hairy.

Yeah, we wound up on a lot of hard trails too. Some parts were crazier than I expected. We had to go over a 3 foot tall downed tree, and that's where I bashed up the nerf bar. Tomorrow Solicit is helping me throw on a ZJ tie rod, since my stock one is now bent, lol. Overall, I'd call the wheeling trip a success.

Haha.. I'd say you came out great. Anything bent or broken is a great chance to upgrade... I was getting nervous has hell since I have 0 armor or front tow points but was able to clear everything.

What are your other plans for upgrades?

Tomorrow Solicit is helping me put on a ZJ tie rod. Also in the next week I'm getting my Iron Rock Offroad shackles and I'll have those installed. Then I will start buying skid plates for the underside. Transfer case skid is first, then gas tank skid, and finally new rocker guards. Eventually I will trim the fenders and put on 32 inch tires, and I'll also get a matching spare rim and tire.

By the way, your new fender flares look awesome, you could totally stuff 33's under there now!
