A lot of people with the 4 liter experience this. Mine usually does it in warmer weather, and it tends to disappear or become really rare in cooler weather.

Jeep did a recall and installed heat shields and foam injector insulators in an attempt to rectify it (and prevent engine bay fires from debris building up in that well) but on mine it just made it worse. I never noticed a problem until they put that stupid heat shield in.

Over on MSJ, nobody's TJ has the foam insulator around the #3 injector but it doesn't help much.

The issue is the #3 cylinder sits where the manifold creates a deep "well". Heat builds up and when you turn the Jeep off, the heat cooks the #3 injector and actually vapor locks it. If you try to restart it between 5 and 15 minutes or so later, it runs like crap and shakes like Tina Turner on meth.

It takes about a minute to a minute and a half for that to clear once you restart the engine.

I'm looking at hood vents or a shaker hood to alleviate the heat issue, but they are $$$.

I thought more backspacing made you sit wider?

haha i know man, my rims have 5.5bs and my tires are 10.5. but im way ahead of you though. rims are being ordered around christmas time, and they will be 3.75 bs black rock soft 8s. Then my next set of tires will be 35x12.5s so i will be as wide as possible on stock axles in a year or so!

I love the LEDs! I would do the same mod, but I have to figure out why my lights don't come on when I open the door. I suck at electrical stuff.

bulbs are most likely blown, just unscrew the yellow protective caps off of them(throw those pointless things away) and twist the bulb out and check it, or it could be a fuse. check all the 15w blue ones in the box under the hood, and you should be good to go.

Thats what I did. I spaced my hood in the back about 3/4" and it worked great. It dident do much, but it keeps the temp down a little, because that cool air coming from the front is pushing the hot air out the back. The only problem I have, is on hot trail days that air gets sucked right into my cab and just cooks ya out. It sucks. Makes for a warm day in the jeep but O well lol.

Ok cool! Ya you sit really narrow and at being 6" tall, I would look at a little wider stance

Im running 3.75" backspacing wheels with a 1.5" spidertrax spacer. So sitting around 2.5" total backspacing and Im really wide. I wear out my unit bearing about every 15k miles. But there under warranty so its ok

Heres a pic of my set up. I have about 3/4 of my tire outside of the body when my bushwackers arnt on. Without them on the jeep look wayyyyy to wide lol.

Finally did some things I've been needing to do today. 40$ well spent. I still need to buy another switch, but I'm going to run my floor lights to the fourth switch, and then when I get my a pilar light mounts from detours im gonna run them to the third switch. Can't wait!
