Yep, that's what the color chips in my post above are about. I'm just going to do black, though.

I'm very seriously considering Monstalining my entire jeep. I ordered a set of color chips the other day. :P I'm thinking the Apocalypse Orange... are you just doing black? And are you putting the carpet back after?

Go to their site and order the color chips. I was able to get extra because my girlfriend ordered some too. The Road Rash is much more "orange" than Apocalypse. Also, I'm doing black all in the interior, and up to the trim line on the outside of the doors and also the rockers after I fix the hole.

I also have plans to mix microballoons in with the Monstaliner for a layer of insulation--more to come on that topic!

Also, check out this guy's build, I've been following. He just Monstalined his whole jeep and it looks great!

There's a build on JF called Thundercracker. Look it up and go to about page 27. He monstalined the whole thing the bright blue (Smurfalicious) and it came out amazing. Yeah, I already ordered the chips but they aren't here yet. How long did they take to get to you?

Took less than a week. I'm hoping the same for when I order the 1 gallon kit, hopefully by the middle of next month or so.

Make sure to get pics of it. I'm sort of torn. I dunno if I should go with a bright *** attentionwhore color or something that's calm and such... so I'm thinking either bright orange, the dark grey (pyroclastic) or black.

Since things never happen when I say/hope that they will, I'll no longer include a date reference of any work that I do...so here she is, finally washed and clean, ready for the onslaught of body work and Monstalining that's coming soon! Also, I'm going to be installing the Bushwacker Flat Flares during this process. I've never seen a stocker with them, so it should be interesting!

Ughhh, beautiful XJ. I wish mine was 4 door/97+/4wd. Talk about buyer's remorse.

Really? That's crazy talk! You should be proud of your 2-door. I sometimes wish I got a 2 door instead.

Huge pain in the ***. I had to get the jack out and climbing in the back seat is a pain. I'm like ~100 pounds and 5'6" and it's even a pain for me.

Plus, I can't paint my rear quarters...

I mean, I guess I could... but it would look stupid as hell on a 2 door...

OH, and the doors are heavy as hell so whenever I want to take them off... well, they weigh about as much as I do.

Honestly, I think it looks stupid as hell on any Jeep. Why just paint that one section? I don't really get it

Good to hear you share that opinion, your XJ looks like its still in pretty solid condition and it would be a crime to cover up that beautiful blue paint. I like the gray/silver on both of mine but that blue color is what I really want.

It's called Gunmetal Pearl I love it, and going to do my best to keep it in good condition. Got a few little spots to touch up, I think I might let the pros do that part.

Im definitely interested in seeing how yours looks with the Bushwacker flares. I've only found a couple pictures of XJs that are close to stock with them and Im still on the fence on whether I want to go that route or not. What's the next step after the rust repair/prevention?
