Default Project bye bye money..

Heres my jeep the day i bought it i didnt like it because i was a 2in buget boost and didnt really make to much sense to leave it there.. so im putting a 4-5in lift on
Project bye bye money..-imag0072.jpg

now comes the lift i have longer then i thought ome nitrochargers already on which saves alot of time and money. i put shackles in the back to pump it up alil. took out the rear sway bar. did a skyjacker tcase drop. adj control arms and track bar from rc. sb links from zone offroad. and springs from a buddy.

heres the 2in height in the rear and now hears the lift with 30in tires.. from center of my hub to fender was 23 inches which correlates to 5 inches rite?

havent really had any problems at all yet. till i got to the tcase drop. i was told to loosen the motor mounts a half turn so i did. took the stock cross member bolts out lowered it about 2 inches and squeezed the blocks in. one side went in great. the other not so much. it was off so i had to force it and i didnt like that. but i got it all in and now got stuck on how the bracket is going to fit.

tcase drop
Project bye bye money..-tcase-drop.jpg

linkage bracket.. the rod that goes from one side to the other doesnt move so idont know how to get the bracket between everything..

on to the front were im having all my problems.. first took out the front sway bar and links for now had to heat up the drivers side link but it came rite out with my impact. unbolted the shocks. and tried lowering the axle all the way down so i could put out the springs. nothing the springs decompressed and wont even budge. so that is were i sit with that i may be stoping by work to borrow a spring compressor. track bar isnt coming out.. the cotterpin on the unibody is so rusty that it breaks off.. and we cant fit a box wrench around it. wont come off the axle either.. pb blaster(we named it please be faster) heat and impact arnt doing anything. i let it sit overnite so maybe hopefully the pb penetrates the bolts. but im stuck. heres some pics ill give an update soon. hopefully im done by tonite.

old nasty links
Project bye bye money..-imag0091.jpg
sway bar out for now. and need a gear puller or something to push the bolt through
Project bye bye money..-need-gear-puller.jpg
annoying track bar. axle side
Project bye bye money..-track-bar-bolt.jpg

Well im finally done! Track Bar came off with and IR 8000rpm impact so after that it was smooth moving! Heres the Track Bar..

Bottom bolt we had to break.. but when i went to get a new one no one has a metric hardened bolt long enough so i had to go with standard and it just isnt going to do it.. sorta loose....
Project bye bye money..-bolt-broke.jpg
my impact wasnt enough to take of the bracket so the IR was nice to borrow..
Project bye bye money..-bracket-off.jpg
after that we used an air chisel and tried cutting the bolt.. it only spread it open and allowed us to slowly spin it off with a air hammer and punch. this is how bad it was....

the left overs..

the springs were a pain. the guy that i bought mine off of yanked my chain gave me the wrong springs. so i went to bds suspension and 3 days later i had 4.5 in lift coils with a 5/8 dia. wire there like 30 pounds a peice..
Project bye bye money..-new-springs.jpg
these things are sorta scary.. i would advise people when using these to be extra careful. but made the job very easy
Project bye bye money..-imag0123.jpg
springs in pretty much done. just a feel things to bolt in

next on my list is to make some quick disconnets. was gonna just drill through the bolt. but i mite go to tsc and get there hitch pins and put those in there. probably a better idea not to drill the bolt. anyone know a place to get a metric hardened bolt for the axle side of the track bar???
