Got the jeep running today!!!! But some IDIOT forgot to tighten down the oil filter all the way... soooooo, the ebay got a little oil bath lol
After I got it running, I decided I wanted to ditch the body trimming. Took a heat gun to the panels and pulled them of, then took a straight edge razor to the excess panel tape, used 3M adhesive remover to get the remainder of the "stickies" off, then finished it up with Mothers wax and a clay bar to clean it up.
After pulling the panels.
All done

^ Not at the moment, but I also havent had it out in the sun yet either.... but not noticeable in garage lighting. If there is im not too worried about it.
Hard to see but theres a huge dent that i need to fix in the rear drivers side door, so at THE LEAST the bottom of the doors will get painted. A complete color change might be in the works too... we'll see how ambitious I feel

After all that cleaning you get oil all over the place?!
You really tore into your motor, that is some awesome work

Its all good. I noticed it pretty quick, so it only had time to blast the passenger side with oil... bout a half quarts worth if I had to guess. Took some parts cleaner and a rag to it before the oil had time to settle. quick fix.
Thanks. It was my first attempt at taking a motor apart... so far so good... didnt blow up when I started it

Did you get the poly or the rubber? I visited their site and i'm pretty interested. I really want the ride of the rubber but I also like the durability of the poly. Guess I can't have everything. What have you found from what you got?

I got the poly for one reason only: its more durable in the dry vegas heat. Although very affordable, I wanted to get the most life out of the mounts, and rubber inserts wouldnt hold up for 'ish out here. Anyone who lives in the desert knows you leave rubber sit out here and itll dry rot to hell in no time.
Should be getting mount and balance done beginning of the week, registered mid week and should be ready to roll the weekend of the 27th. Fingers crossed that everything goes as planned.
