you know the cost of a 8 sec honda, you can have five 8 sec v8 cars that are all still streetable? If you can build multiple cars just as fast, the respectively that one isnt fast. If you take a 8sec honda budget a v8 will go 6.5

why would anyone want to use a four cylinder engine as the basis of a high performance street car? You start with maybe 175 horsepower if you're lucky. A V6? 250 horsepower usually. A V8? 300-500, depending on what you've done to the exhaust and if it's an older engine or not...

well dont get my point of view wrong. I said hondas arent fast. I didnt say 4 cylinders. theres a 2g eclipse at the shop that makes over 1000 at the wheels. thats 500hp per liter. let me see a v8 do that.

How long does it take to replace the tranny mount? What brand did you use and where did you buy it? How much did it cost you?

well original mopar. it came off my low mile parts jeep. it looked like brand new, so I reused it. as far as replacing it, a lot depends on how dirty/rusty/old yours is. that being said i could stop on the side of the road to change it, and be 10 mins from the time i stop til the time im driving again.

I tried to get you some progress shots, but youll have to deal with upside down, dark, phone pics.

first is the trans mount. you can see the new bolts I had to get. Also the downpipe I have to use to drive the jeep to the exhaust shop.

second is were I had to wrestle the downpipe back in place, along with tightening the rest of the manifold bolts, actually got a little light headed from wrenching upside down.

well I totally passed out before I finished posting my pics.

heres an engine shot. I finished tightening all the manifold bolts, finished the injectors/fuel rail. and work ed on the wiring a little. I had to stop because I realized I never finished mounting my valve cover. It should only take me minutes to get everything tidied up. the only challenging thing I have left is the alt bracket. I hope its not too bad.

lets all hope for a start up vid tonight.

Don't forget crankcase ventilation, man. New grommets and elbows, and make sure the one in back has the little orifice in it.

Is that brake booster line hooked to a fitting on the TOP of the intake manifold? I believe it goes to the fitting on the SIDE of the intake right in the middle.

vacuum lines dont matter where they go cause they will all have the same vacuum. however I am going to move it to the side.

this motor wont have the CCVs Im just gonna run 2 breathers. If that isnt enough, then Ill switch to a catch can.....actually I might just go ahead and order a catch can now.
