well I just had the happiest and saddest part of my build, consecutively.
I finally had some time to work on the jeep. cleaned the garage all day, then took all night getting the motor in. It was so stubborn and It took forever to get the mounts lined up

and then finally, after lots of prying, kicking, fighting, screaming, smacking, beating, more prying, lifting, lowering, bending, hammering.
the jeep is finally off the donor list, and sitting with a new heart

after all the trouble it gave, and the extremely long wait, I was so thrilled when i bolted down the motor mounts...I treated my self to some late night mcDs.
well when I got back I decided Id throw my good valve cover on (the old one went back on to keep the new one from getting dinged.) and put the dual TBs on just for a nice teaser shot.

now, from here, I was soooooo mad that I just shut up the garage, so no more pics...But the manifold DOES NOT FIT!!!!!!!!! apparently when the measure ment were made, It was on a wrangler, and the xj brake booster gets in the way!!!!! its about 4 inches too wide to fit in the jeep!!!
Im just disappointed really. this was supposed to be the defining part of this jeep, and now its getting scrapped.

That's why I've been following this thread... because it wasn't just a straight 6.. it was a dual TB'd straight six.

trust me, I am way more dissappointed, than you....
right now, I think my only options are,
1, cut the runners off, and re-weld them removing enought length to make them fit
2, sell the manifold to a wrangler owner, and run lots of N20
3, catch the jeep on fire and call it a day.

had another dgaf jeep club meeting today.
started swapping the seat brackets.
put the 2door bracket on my leather seat. then put the leathers bracket on the old seats, and put them in my buddies white 4door. we only got the drivers side done. probably gonna do the passenger side tomorrow.
as far as the manifold...IDK. Im thinking option 1 is turning into: start another setback, giant side project.
im strongly considering option 3...maybe if I can keep beating the little obstacles it will help keep me from losing interest. I hate taking alot of time, not cutting corners, just to be kicked in the face by a project.
