My 1990 'Backyard Budget Build'
Well, I havent been on here in forever. Anyways i finally sold my 1992 camaro Rs for a bone stock 1990 jeep cherokee laredo. It is 2wd. and had some cosmetic problems... i dont have any older pictures, but i have a few of how it is today, and what all i have done, along with what i plan on doing soon.
This is pretty much what my jeep looked like the day i got it...
From there i put on a roof rack, a 3.5 inch suspension lift, and 30 inch goodyear wrangler A/T tires.
I took the jeep and played around a little bit on some local dirtroads. from then on, i can honestly say, IM HOOKED
I soon took it on a mudding trip with one of my buddies. i managed not to get stuck. i was excited.
my buddy on the other hand, wasnt so lucky....
so we had to call in the backup crew, as you can see, the road itself proves to be a challenge
My jeep just sitting and watching...
needless to say, we got him out, and went home for the day.
I soon found that my side trim was very faded, and the pinstripe above it was almost unnoticeable...so i pulled out the ole rattle can spray paint, and went to work
and here was the final result... 2 cans of black paint, some painters tape, and a little bit of decorative mud
The jeep came with a radio, but the display did not work, so i ended up pulling it out, and trashing it.
and this is what im left with...
I soon got the urge to just hook up a few subwoofers i had laying around. so i did!
I ended up with a 10" MTX SUB, a 12" PIONEER SUB, a 1000 watt sony amp, and a 2000 watt crunch amp. Still, no radio :/ lol
i also wired up some aftermarket 6x9 inch speakers in the back hatch...
Then, out of nowhere, my jeep started overheating most everytime i would drive it, so i went to a JY and picked up an electric radiator fan, and mounted it. So now i have 2 fans. But i couldnt figure out how to wire it, so i just put a switch in the cab...
I mounted the switch to the left of the base of the steering column.
My jeep also did not have any cupholders....
Problem solved
Then i ended up missing the loud exhaust from my old camaro
Sooo....
....I straight piped the jeep, and added a cherry bomb exhaust with a turndown
The outside of my jeep seems to catch much attention...
...so why shouldnt the inside?
Then i painted my tie rod a bright yellow, and also beat the old fog lights off, and replaced with some new ones....I was very surprised to see that the new fog lights are actually brighter than my headlights
.... and also, just for some information, I am only 16 years old
well that is all i have for now, more to come soon!

nahhh. i dont think im going to try to tackle that...the jeep had a small knock in the motor when i got it, and it has 214,000 miles. So im going to wheel it until it gives out, then hopefully buy a 2001 jeep cherokee 4x4. Im fine with it being two wheel drive, only because i will probably purchase a winch here soon...maybe with some christmas money?

No...not really. theres a lot of backwoods dirt roads. TONS of mud though. But as of tonight, im not going on a dirt road for awhile... Some "anti-offroader" put nails in all the mudholes on one of my favorite roads, and when i went mudding and got back to my house to wash off, i looked at all my tires, and EVERY ONE had at least 3 nails in it. Im beyond mad. And that all happened tonight! pics to come soon

okay, i finally brought my camera inside and got the pictures of last night off...
heres a few from the dirt roads we ''explored" before it got dark
after it got dark, we found this one dirt road with really steep banks. The pictures dont do much justice.
Then we went and rode around in some shallow streams off the side of a dirt road...it was actually very fun lol. it was only about 4 inches deep, 8 inches at the deepest.
Then i needed to go to walmart for some stuff, and of course, some "mall crawling" poser shots ))
And to go along with the "build" part of the thread, you can see my new xenon fog lights i put on beside the other fog lights theyre awsome, and i have them pointed out at a 45 degree angle, so it illuminates ditches and such!
well, thats all ive got for now. Thanks for looking! ill keep everyone posted!
