So I figured out the no radio, no wiper or a/c issue. I found a mess of wiring and crimped connections at the ignition switch, one of the wires had come unplugged. Plugged it back in and everything came back on. I'll redo it all eventually.

Next up is a new alternator.

oh no you cant sell after all that! Have you thought about doing a bench seat out of a Comanche? Ive seen a lot of threads about that and it doesn't seem to difficult! That would be enough room for the whole family plus your little girl would get to sit in the front and that would make wheeling way more fun for her. Great build by the way thanks for sharing!

I really hadn't thought about a bench but I believe it would be way too tight.

I honestly think I like building them more then wheeling. If I were to sell it and pick up another one for $500-$1,000 that would leave me $1,500-$2,000 to build it. The wheels/tires/axles are already in my garage. That leaves a lot of money for links, brackets/tabs, beadlocks, roll cage, etc..

Well whatever you end up with next please promise me you'll make a build thread on here, jeep or not! this has honestly been one of the most interesting builds to follow so thank you for posting! But I would say price wise I'd probably put it on for $4000 and take anything around $3500. I think that would be fair looking at the pictures but if I were the one that built it I would probably ask for a little more lol!

So I feel the need to tell you about my day and how I've sold my Jeep and am so glad to have it back. Scroll to the bottom for the short version.

Anyway, I listed it on craigslist a few days ago and my phone has been blowing up with trade offers and people generally interested but no one has shown up yet. Until today... Last night I get a text, not inquiring about the work that's gone into it but with a solid cash offer. I tell him up his number by $200 and he's got a deal. Well he messages back that if the motor runs ok then we've got a deal. At this point is 10:30 pm and he wants to come get it last night. I tell him no, Sunday morning will be fine. We settled on 12 noon that he would be here and drive off with it. So I'm hanging out this morning and 11 o'clock comes and goes with out word from this guy. I haven't given him my address yet so I know he's not left. I call him up and he sounds like he's got ADD, ADHD, and probably on some kind of pill or drugs. At this point I started getting a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach about this whole deal. He says he's on his way but will be a few minutes late. I wait and text him a few times, wait some more and text him again. Finally he shows up with a car load of other guys in this beat down little 2 door car an hour and a half late. The feeling in my stomach goes from bad to worse. The guy buying the Jeep gets out and immediately starts rolling around on the ground and hollering something about a transmission leak (even tho it doesn't have one). He proceeds to tell me that he doesn't have a license and that his "lady friend" is going to test drive the Jeep. While they are gone, my wife comes out with our baby and I tell her to go back inside. These guys seem dangerous but then again, they weren't quite right.
So they get back, hand over some cash and leave. I go inside and tell my wife that something doesn't seem right and I don't feel comfortable about them having something I've put this much time into. She tells me "it's not like it's a dog or something", but I explain that I literally but blood, sweat and tears into it and want some that will appreciate it to own it.
So we head off to my in-laws house 35 miles away when I get the dreaded call. They are broke down on the side of the road just 2 miles out of town. I headed back with a pissed off wife and called my dad to meet me and ride out to meet these guys. By this time, I just hope they haven't blown the motor but it gave me an opportunity to get my Jeep back from these guys that have no clue what they are doing.
We meet them on the interstate which coincidentally is just on the other side of the fence from my parents farm. I give the crack head his cash back and tell him i'll take it from here. After putting two gallons of water in the radiator I fired it up and head home not knowing what to expect. Much to my surprise I turned around and headed back home at what I believe is the top speed for this XJ at 60 MPH with the A/C cranked up and it never got above 220*. Once I get home I notice they were so gracious as to fill up the gas tank before getting on the interstate.
I believe they just pushed it too hard and got it hot. I drive out to my parents (right where they "broke down") and wheel around in the field for hours then head home with no issues. So the next on the to do list is flush the cooling system and drive the Jeep a little more to make sure it's still safe to sell.

SHORT VERSION:
Sold the Jeep to some crackheads who made it 4 miles from my house and let it get hot. Filled it with water and drove it home just fine. Jeep appears to be fine when someone who knows what they are doing is behind the wheel. Also got it back with a full tank of gas!

Anyway, it turns out my neighbor saw the whole interaction at my house and didn't know I was selling it. He now wants to buy it to run around town in and maybe take his kayaks out to the creek.

Thought you might get a kick out of my horror story turned happy ending.

PS:sorry for any grammatical errors, in a runs to go get my wallet that my parents ended up with somehow throughout this whole mess.
