It has crossed my mind, trust me! That might be the easiest way to get the wiring harness straightened out. 5.3 with a stand alone harness

Trying to get the rear end the way I want it before I start on the front. The frame is shortened 9.5" and I should be able to take about 12" out of the bed.

Thanks

I'll post some more pictures when I get a little more done. Should have the axle back in and start bobbing the bed this weekend or next week.

I told myself I'd never do more sheet metal work after the Jeep but I guess I lied. The frame was shortened 9.5" so I'm taking 12" out of the rear of the bed. It's a little tricky since the rear of the bed is narrower than the middle but I found a way to keep the inner structure the same width in case I decide to get a stock tail gate for it.

Not finished yet but you get the idea. I haven't taken the body lift out from under the cab yet, that's why there is a height difference.

I do miss taking it out to the farm and cruising around on the weekends. But with the baby now, I don't have much time for that anyway.

Do you have a build thread elsewhere for the Chevy?

I'm not sure on the wheelbase. If I had to guess it's probably +4-5 inches over stock, which google says is 123. It's pretty long but hopefully the bobbed bed will help out in tight spaces a little.

I've always been an S10 guy, I've built 2 Jimmy's and 1 Blazer with the help of s10forum.com. My main build thread is there but I can still update this one if you guys want.
