In all honesty I'd save a few more pennies and get a dual voltage or 220V machine. You wont need the power all the time, but the Hobart 140 only has a 20% duty cycle. Meaning you can only weld at the upper settings for 2 minutes out of a 10 minute period before letting it cool.
The more powerful machine is a 2-300 bucks more, but from a fabricating standpoint you are getting twice the machine. Otherwise if you dont like orange, the Miller 211 is one of the best home shop welders out there.
Just food for thought. Definitely a buy once cry once type deal and a substantial investment.

First off, looks great Ryan...
Second, I vote rattle can. Easy to touch up, and keep it looking fresh.
Third, get as best a welder as you can afford. 20% DC is pitiful, LOL
I love my 211. Miller and Hobart are owned by the same company, ITW, (Illinois Tool Works) but operate as their own entities. Miller is geared more towards the professional world, Hobart is geared towards the hobbyist. Really can't go wrong with either for personal use. I went with Miller, because that's all we use at work, and each machine there is a trooper, LOL...oh, and definitely buy a dual voltage or 220 machine.

I am on good business terms with a local powder coater however, he would charge me next to nothing to put the bumper in the oven the next time he coats a big order.
Yeah I saw the 20% DC and wasn't too terribly impressed with that. I figured though that since the XJs have such thin metal on them, that it wouldn't be a big deal. Didn't think of it in terms of fabrication though. *sigh* I need to work more overtime.... and hide money.

I think rattle can is going to be the winner.

I got mine on CL for $900, brand new with a factory warranty, cart, bottle, extra tips and wire...guy paid $1300 for it, used it once, changed his mind, and got a TIG unit instead. Pretty good deal.
Also, try hitting up your local weld shops, people may post theirs for sale there, and ask the guys there if they know anyone that repairs welders...if so, contact them and see if they have anything available. They may just have something in the boneyard that needs a part or something they could sell to you/fix up for cheap.

Well yeah, I already figured the "less" part.... just didn't think I needed the "MOARRRR!!!!" part.
Oh trust me, I've been scouring CL. I actually found a Handler 140 on CL for 365... but now that y'all have got me lookin' for a machine with higher power, so much for that!
Good ideas man. There's a couple of supply places around here... one that bounces to mind is Airgas.

Try and keep it short... I've always been into guns, shot quite a bit, but never had my own (hand gun or rifle). Been a while since I've shot and decide, F it! I'm gonna buy all the parts I need and build my own. Haven't started building yet but just received the last pieces yesterday.
I'll eventually be adding updates about it on my build.
- 16" Mid Length 5.56/.223
- Aero Precision upper and lower receivers
- Bravo Company BCG, Low Pro Gas Block, Rear end (buffer, tube, etc.), and barrel.
- LaRue hand guard (10")
- Troy Folding BUIS
- Red Dot to come
I'll eventually be adding updates about it on my build.

Hahaha, sure did! Spent like 2 weeks digging until I started buying. Once I found out that Bravo Company tests each and everyone of their BCG's, I found it hard to go with anything else. I wanted to have something that had the pieces I want, and not have to upgrade a complete rifle and spend more money.
I'll hopefully start building this weekend.
That's a nice setup you have there, Roni? Lets get the rundown.
EDIT: It's official though... I'm road tripping my XJ to CA, and we are going wheeling and shooting!
DOUBLE EDIT: I can't believe it took me this long to realize that your name is Ronin Of Ako! I don't know how I never put that together! Anyway....
