Post Jurassic Jeep build progress

Project Jurassic Jeep is coming along pretty well. Here is a current progress update of my "corrosion protection" spray can paint job.

I am cutting away body rust and preparing for a rebuild. My plan is to rebuild most of the rusted uni-body sections and reinforcing the rest so i wont have to worry about rust for a while. While i'm at it, I'll probably do new leaf springs and mounts for those. this is the basic idea of what my final paint job will look like once i have all new body sections welded in and bondo to make it nice and smooth...

Here is a picture showing the areas of body work needing to be done.

current paint scheme and testing out a few looks with black/red trim.
Forgive the over-spray and overall incomplete rust-bucket i have as a daily driver XD
suggestions and comments welcome.
Have a good jeepin day!

Today is a dark day for Jurassic Jeep... I began to asses the floor rust by removing sections of carpet. I knew it had no floor but I did not expect it to be as bad as it was lol. I just stopped after one side. No time for o a major project today...

so today, I ask you, the Jeep people, should she be saved by replacing that much flooring or should I donate her powertrain to my 95 YJ? the YJ is the 2.5l 4c with ax5 I can tell that it’s going to go at some point... either way I have some work to do. What should I dedicate time to. Power swap. Or attempt to rebuild the floor and body? I love it so but it’s come down to these 2 options. Scrap yard is not an option while o know it runs and drives. It was my DD until this post...

If you live in the east tn area and want to trade for parts, I might just do it. I really want a 95 wrangler il6 4.0 paired with an ax15. I’d swap the entire Jeep for the powertrain

spread the word. Running/driving 96 2 door 4.0 auto for trade on powertrain for wrangler

I've seen worse. How do the frame rails look? That amount of rust doesn't seem worthy of a write off but I'm not the one who has to repair it lol

Frame rails are solid. It’s primarily the floor pans. I don’t think it’s a lost cause but it will be a whole floor and some Reinforcing. Either way I look at it, it’s going to be a little work. I’ll have to rebuild seat mounts and what not but I’m positive I’ll be able to figure it out.

if I go with a power swap, then I’d have to retrofit the wrangler with the ECU TCU shifting console, trans crossmember, driveshafts, differentials, and completely rebuild the cooling and engine bay lol did I forget anything?

Honestly, if the frame rails are still solid, just fix the floors. You should be able to find the parts you need for a powertrain swap for the YJ without too much difficulty. Finding a relatively clean 2 door XJ (for a reasonable price) is getting harder and harder. Plus, two Jeeps are always better than one

About the seat mounts, I was talking with a guy a while ago who had his rust out and he said that a piece of angle iron worked perfect. No idea if that helps you but just passing on what he said. Also, it looks like you've got enough left to help you build a template, again I'm not the one who has to do it.

I've decided to rebuild the floors and sell the YJ. My passion is for the Cherokee. Honestly, when I bought it I thought it had 4 doors. I got it home and reached for a handle ..

It does help. I'm not going out of my way to purchase new mounts. I'm sure I can engineer something based off the old design
