I'm honestly contemplating taking my Jeep in and getting the whole thing professionally done, with the rust spots taken out and an underbody coating done up. I figure that in a few years the resale value will be worthless, but, as long as I can fight off the great North East Coast Rust, it should last a long time, right? It's not as much for the looks (although that will be AWESOME having it fully blacked out and perfect) as it is prevention, as I have a few rust spots (nothing major) already that I want taken to fix.
It's going to be my daily driver, so unfortunately I'm not really going to be wheeling the **** out of it to ruin much of a paint job. Like I said, I'm really worried about the rust more than the looks, so it's a functional deal. Plus, the inside is immaculate, minus the two non-working speakers. Carpet, seats, dash, everything is great with no rips or fading.
With 130,000 on it, do you guys think this is a decent idea?

Yeah i think its a great idea.
Why...... Becuase its a Jeep your going to have for some time, and it should have a good looking paint job. Plus if you decide to sell it for some reason, and the paint is in great condition, then you could ask for a good amount of money. I dont mean LOTS OF MONEY, but your going to get more then you would imagine. Mostaly if you sell it to a REAL JEEPER. Any ways i have a 93 cherokee "Country" and the paint is really bad, no rust parts but Bad paint. And am saving up to give a good paint job over this summer. Am still thinking of a Shiny Dark Blue Or glossy Black. Cant wait.

You're lucky in that you don't have to deal with the salt crap that we have up here, either. During the winter it just POURS out of the highway trucks pretty much every day :/
