The IrishXJ
Thanks and yea I'm stoked. Next up is quite possibly winch style bumper. I still need rock sliders too so that front bumper is probably going to wait. Since I'm going trails next month in Oregon I want to get rig setup best I can before then.Besides my front bumper now is a solid steel one with hitch on it so I can always do a winch / hitch mount.
I have to be honest and say that I have not but it's my fault. I kept getting hit with so many things I had to deal with that I have not had time to try and sign up here again after the first failed attempt. No one to blame but myself for not following through yet. I did see you got yours though, it is reassuring to hear this and it makes me optimistic.

*UPDATE*
So as you all know now I sold the Green Jeep so Irish lives again under red paint!!! LOL
I got something done yesterday but still don't know really why it happened or what is causing my electrical gremlins.
I read online here, in fact some older threads about disconnecting the wiring harness near kick panel on drive side and try to turn on lights. What would you know that my running lights worked in front. So after more reading people claimed a lot of times the short can be the hatch so in the rear I disconnected all wiring leading into the hatch but also disconnecting plugs in rear cleaned them all as they were full of dried dirt and corrosion and plugged back in.
Rear lights are now working but I do not have brake lights at all. I also have a solid green turn signal when running lights are on but all my running lights work, turn signals work, hazards work, etc. The only thing that is not working now is my brake lights. I used a test light to see if I was getting power to the rear and looks like I'm not. I checked up in the drive side kick panel area where wire plug connects and still no power on what I believe to be brake lights wire (pink in color). Yes I applied brake to get sensor to work (maybe this is bad?) So I even went as far as testing the sensor near brake pedal and still nothing so maybe it is not working and causing the power to not go from sensor when brake is applied to rear wiring harness?
I'm at a loss once again but the good thing is I have lights, (never actually had to use the extra brake light harness given to me). I did put one of the wiring harness for the green Jeep. At leas the new owner has a good working harness. Turns out the plugs are different so to make them work I would have had to cut splice, re-wire in the new ones. I will find some purpose for the one I still have.
I don't know what else to check at this point. I was looking online, JCR sells a armor brake light housing and you can purchase the LED's seperate as well. Has anyone had success with this setup? I was thinking of just converting to the LED's. This way I could have armor in the rear lights section and LED's that would be brighter then factory. Problem is I still have no brake lights so I need to figure that out. There something I might be missing here?
I need to maybe head over to the local parts store pickup my Chiltons or Haynes manual and start reading

Sorry you're having elecrtrical problem, they suck!
Just went thru this yesterday it sucked too! And I'm too lazy to use my tranny jack!
I got the CavFab LA kit and pulled the trigger on the Dirtbound sliders before checking for fit, so I need to. I'll mock it tonight and let you know how it looks.
Putting t case back in having to lift it over my head about ten times until I got it to line up was not fun! I should have purchased a motorcycle jack or transmission jack for this job. The heavier part didn't bother me just awkward position I was in and trying to maintain a grip so I didn't drop it on my head.
Does anyone have any experience with Dirtbound Offroad rock sliders? What I'm trying to do is see if they will clear my Rough Country Long Arm kit due to where my side plates mount and the opening on the frame where the flange nute sits. I contacted them via e-mail and the response I got was they should fit but to me that is not clearly 100% guranteed so I'm waiting on another response before I push the order button. I like thier setup, it is like some others but they offer Military discount and they have free shipping which is unheard of I think with things at this weight. So out the door I can get it for around $340 a pair of them.

Thanks for those photos but my question for you, the side plates that wrap around your uniframe from the cross member area that you didn't bolt in how are you going to bolt those? See the Rough Country kit want's you to use some flag nut that sticks out that small opening right where your sliders sit. But you know what now that I think of it I could just run a solid bolt all the way through the frame rail just the rear does and never even use that stupid flag nut. *DUH* why didn't I even think of that before
$800 I sold it for. I paid $300 I think or maybe $350 put (4) brand new tires on it roughly $500 and then a power steering hose on it. So really I got nothing out of it but the satisfaction that someone gets to build it. The guy I got it from was going to send it to the JY if I didn't come get it so who knows what would have happened then.

I'm pretty sure it would be your brake light switch is dirty, not aligned, or just plain bad. I've also read that your brake lights go through the turn signal stalk so that could also be a problem. Maybe check for bare wires in the column shorting out possibly? Double check all the fuses as well, as simple as that sounds.
