the only thing im really undecided on is the engine...i want enough power to be able to do burnouts in 40's, lol not that i plan on doing it, but i like to have that kind of power with this monster...so i been looking at different engines and possible swaps and im really unsure of what i need to look for to get this kind of power ..... and then comes degree of difficulty to install...and price, lol...i seriously been looking at turn key engines and drivetrain.....but im just not sure i want to drop 10k on it if i can get the same result for cheaper...im open to all and any suggestions...but just remember not all engines are easy to find
If you're not a professional welder now, you will be by the time you finish this thing! Lookin forward to the progress of this build, good luck.Originally Posted by johnydoe

I know serious offroad has a jeep with a hemi swap in it. I don't think it would have the power you're looking for but at least it's an idea. You're going to need a nice turbo diesel or high output N/A engine (which would feel too much like you're driving a damn race car) in order to get those axles and tires going fast. Definitely would be cool, just a lot of work, which obviously doesn't bother you

finnished drivers side....now all i gotta do is weld in the prefab floor panels in place...then some touch ups and solidifying on the drivers side....then is on to the frame beefing(1/4" plate
)

oh, and seeing how welding is so important in this domain...ive decided to go back to school and get my welders certification and red seal....good to know and good to have the certification.

ya i know...but even with the added weight i think the solidity of it will out weigh the down side of the added weight. after seeing ppl round here plate a frame in 3/8th i figured 1/4 would be easier but still give me a near bomb proof frame....def un-twistable, lol
