My upper hinge pin has substantial play in the bushing sleeves.
Interestingly enough only the upper hinge on the driver's side is worn out, so less work for me.
After 2 days and 4 broken T40 Torx sockets later the door finally came off.
I did end up having to cut the head off of 1 of the lower hinge bolts, the torx teeth were gone completely.
I figure that 5 out of 6 bolts is good enough for now.
No door glamour shots - possibly removable door hinge conversion in the future or half doors
More door glamour shots - possibly removable door hinge conversion in the future or half doors
A close look at the problem - you can clearly see a gap between the pin and the hinge itself
Once i got the 2 halves separated I found there was no lower bushing left just an upper.
New pin and bushings installed - much better, no play
After several adjustments and re-adjustments later, the door is reinstalled and works like new.
I do plan when I do either removable doors or half doors to change the bolts to standard hex head instead of Torx head.
Too much pain in the ***** to deal with.

I used a .50 Caliber ammo can to store everything I needed for my roadside emergency kit.
The ammo box is water proof and perfect to keep the essentials dry and organized.
I have included in my kit safety triangle, 2 glow sticks, tire plug kit, leather-man, gloves, first-aid kit, safety vest, foil blanket, poncho, tire gauge, electrical tape, zip ties, safety whistle, bungee cords, jumper cable and hand charge flashlight.

CB mount, and the rape handle for the hatch are my favorite. Although the mic cord would completely drive me insane dangling around like that. I wonder if they make a mic cord "extension" where you could re-route it down the A-post and under the dash? Hmmm.
