Default Eastwood

By the way how to you like buying from Eastwood? I will be needing many of the products they sell (body & paint supplies) as I get closer to that phase on my trailer I am building. I have reframed from buying from them as they don't use pay-pal and that is my primary way I pay for things through the net.

Yes, unfortunately I couldn't get the BB code from my phone so they weren't working.

Here's one more before:

I did not enjoy the buying experience by any means... I bought the welder and after several emails and communications it finally shipped a month after I ordered it...

However, I can't complain to much I caught it on sale direct from them for $230 with free shipping.

I'm running .035 flux core on it and I am very impressed with it for the price.
I've got an older miller 140 at work and the eastwood is a better welder than it for just a hobbyist.

Got Plate?

All the "frame" is now completed, you can see along the bottom where I also added 1/8" where it had cracked previously.

Had to move my shocks as well so made some quick tabs for them:

Now the work can being on the next project:

Qoute; Got Plate?
Very nice! When my frame cracked I di the same thing. I went ahead and took a thicker piece of steal than the stiffeners and wrapped the area were the crack happened fro extra measure. (Solid as Sears now) I like that you welded the track bar bracket to the frame afterwards. I would do that also but it is still stock so if it fails I don't want to cut the welds to remove it. If I replace it with a stout bracket I'll do that.

Thanks, The tracbars welded in solid plus the bolt in brace going from it to the passenger side. Jeep used to have a few creaks going down the road, they're gone now

Got a little more done this week.

Added the Top & Bottom Caps, along with some ribbing on the back to brace it:

Added the D-Ring Tabs to the side:

Test fitting everything off the Jeep:

Still have to finish tearing the winch down and doing a remote head on it:

As of right now the primer is drying on the bumper and I'll be hitting it with some black tonight.
I've got a few trips planned between now and Mid April so going to run it as a stubby with no winch before finishing it off, after the trips.

Final design will have side caps / wings to protect the rest of the grill and marker lights like the CAD shows.
Also, going to integrate a pillow block bearing to put the pitman arm in double shear

Looks good man. Hard to fathom that there's enough room back there for a winch.

Yeah, I still have to cut out the cross-member in the rear and remote mount the head. But it'll clear with a bout 2" in front of the harmonic balancer.

My front brake lines are 26" long but they still weren't long enough of full down travel...

Not anymore:
