Well I'm stoked got three projects I've been working on and have packages in route to the house!

Axle build is a few months out.
Here is the working plan of events:

TLC Continued:
Fix Winch
Fix Exhaust
New Passenger Rear Shock
Fix Dash
New Speakers
Oil Pressure Sending Unit
MAP Sensor
Leaf Spring Retaining Clips
CB

Jeep Power:
99+ Intake Manifold
703 Injectors
Higher FPR

Once all of this is complete then the Jeep will move to the next phase, roughly in this order:

1) SYE w/ XJ Front DS, Clayton Long Arm Cross Member & New Poly Trans mount. - AUGUST

2) 5on4.5 to 5on5.5 adapters
New Rims & Tires for 5on5.5 - SEPTEMBER

3) HP Dana 44 Build
Shorten, 4.56's, Detroit, Longarms, 760x, Truss - OCTOBER

4) Rear Dana 44 Upgrade
Truss & G2 Shafts w/ 5on5.5 bolt pattern - NOVEMBER

Well the Jeep is purring like a kitten.

I swapped the IAC & TPS before the last trip, last night I swapped in a new MAP sensor. Jeep has never ran so smooth...
Anyone got any suggestions for other 20 year old sensors I should replace while I'm at it? I thought about replacing the IAT?

Also, I finally replaced the very first part that every broke on the Jeep...
A little back story:

I got my XJ right after I turned 18, "Back when I knew it all", I wanted a big 6 cyl, 4wd, and 4-door for college. The XJ was my answer. I bought it from a dealership as it had low miles and was really clean, so it came with a warranty. "First Mistake"

When I got it home, My Dad & I decided to change the oil... We successfully snapped off the Oil Sending Unit, also we noticed an oil leak under the Jeep. Since it was under warranty I took it back.

This is where my life lesson comes in:
The mechanic said, "The oil leak is just coming off the back of the plug, I put a bigger gasket on it's good to go now... Also since you broke the sending unit you'll need to pay for that, I just happen to have one so your in luck."

When I got back in the Jeep and cranked it up the Oil Pressure Gauge read over 80PSI, laughing the mechanic said, "That Jeeps got GREAT OIL PRESSURE!"

Thus began my quest for greater knowledge & Jeep Wisdom. This lead to the first Jeep repair as the "Oil Plug" was still leaking. The leaky oil plug turned out to be a cracked weld in the oil pan where someone had obviously tried to do a self repair. So first thing to get fixed on my heep was replacing the Oil Pan. I always left the Oil Pressure Gauge Broken as a reminder. Yesterday after 7 years, I finally felt I'd learned my lesson and I fixed it.

What about the Crank Position Sensor? From this forum it seems to be a common issue (when there is an issue).

Yes, it is very common, Mine went out going down the hwy at 75...
I think that was before I started this thread, I carry a spare now. I've also since replaced the O2 unit.

I'm trying to think of things that the Jeep still would function but not optimally as the case with, MAP, TPS, & IAC. If the CPS goes your stranded.

Just finished doing some prep work before the overhaul starts Friday:

Cleaned the new 4 port 703 injectors.

Sprayed the manifold bolts down with pb blaster

Even gave the new intake a cleaning:

Friday install will include:

New 99+ intake
New 96+ power steering and belt setup
4 port 703 injectors
Higher pressure FPR 40 idle & 48WOT
New Flow Daddy Headers

Everything is getting new orings and gaskets

I'm curious to see how the fitment goes with the 99+ intake and the flow daddy. Do you think you'll have to modify anything like you would with the APN header?
