Dana 30 swap. I used my 95 Knuckles out and shafts. I deleted the CAD axle on the donor.
Keep in mind I done all of this swap completely by myself. I dont have a shop at my house for such a long process so I had to work on the ground lol. I'm a big guy so the weight was somewhat manageable but I did have to get creative a few times.

Donor from JY with the 4.56s I pulled this by myself and was rather difficult to load in the truck haha. I took my mini torch in that helped get some of the bolts loose.

Took me about 2 hours to get everything off and loaded up. got it complete for $89
BatMoJeep-20140118_123457_resized.jpg

Opened up and all looked good. I installed my lock right in to it as well.
BatMoJeep-20140120_104712_resized.jpg

Since I knew I was going to use knuckle out I removed it all while still on my jeep. It was easier to knock the knuckles off while still attached. Also made it lighter to get out alone.

New 5.5 inch RE coils next to the 3 inch Rancho coils.

This didn't come out the way I liked. I may just go with straight black. I still have it to put on tomorrow morning.

I had to get creative lining up the LCAs I decided to pull my winch line and let it do the work. This idea worked perfect other than it bent my fair lead a little but not a big deal. If I ever have to do this again i will use a ****** block lol.

Her back on her own weight and moved it so I could clean up my shop (yard with a tarp lol) and turn it around to start the rear swap lol

Got the rear removed. I took springs and axle out all at once. I had to take them off before I could get it out from under all the way. I was just too heavy I used a different set of leafs when I went back in.
BatMoJeep-20140218_170518_resized.jpg

Putting the 8.8 under it. I got creative again. I took some old drums I had and flipped them around and bolted them up. That actually was so I could roll it under the jeep into place without messing up dust shields. I then used them to jack the rear up into place. The lip worked perfect to get the hijack into place. One idea worked for 3 different purposes.

Back on her own weight. I still have a few small things left to test drive her.

Rear disks that I removed and sold from the 8.25
BatMoJeep-20140218_164604_resized.jpg

Pile of parts. I may sell some of it since a lot of the parts are still good to use. The rest will go for scrap metal.

Back on her own weight only lack hooking up drive-shafts and rear brake lines. Gonna get to test drive the 4.56s tomorrow yay.

If this went the other way off the trailer there would be no more build thread. I was parked opposite of this and watched it slide and flop off the trailer. Lucky my uncle was fine and other than a few gallons of fluid loss and new pair of shorts for him nothing was hurt. Me and my uncle were cutting some lanes at the camp and while crawling on the trailer one of the feet broke on the ramps bucked the truck and the dozer slid off the side and flopped right on its side. I was on the other side of the trailer when I got around there he was just standing there very lucky he wasn't injured.

Moving a camp members 30ft into place. I was the only one willing since I had to drive into the woods to get it where he wanted it. He had a brand new Raptor that didn't need to get scratched.

I got it all done except for new shocks. I also am going to get it re aligned this week. I was able to go and test out the flex and get some bump-stop measurements and shock lengths. I ordered some RE socks 15.5 compressed and 27.5 extended twin tubes yesterday. I didn't see the point in going mono for they type of riding that I do and its not a pavement driven rig. The 4.56s are absolutely incredible. Its amazing to have that power back.

Love the gears. Got my new shocks on and the rear needs to come up a little more to level out. So I ordered the shackle re locators that will give me a good angle and the around 1.5 inches I want in height. Gonna get them installed this weekend.

BatMoJeep-relocators.jpg

sold a bunch of stuff I wasn't really planning on selling too. The 8.25 that I was gonna just scrap I was offered $60 for. and all of the Dana 44 stuff is gone but the housing itself.

Got my seats out of an 04 WJ. Only 1 tear and a little dirty. Got them for only $35 for both
BatMoJeep-20140322_115742.jpg

Got them put in and that was a breeze just like everyone else I used the XJ tracks. They are extremely comfy. They sit about an inch taller with is fine for me and anyone who would be driving mine.
BatMoJeep-20140322_145908.jpg

Decided to work on relocating my CB. (I don't have A/C and only use heat for defrost.) I still have to clean up the install but seems like this will work good.

Got her loaded up for the trip to The ORV park that was the 29th. Had a blast at the park. Only issue was a blown Rough Country brake line. Got it off the trail with a pair of vice grips. Locker did not like having 1 wheel locking up and other not doing anything. Temp fixed with a rear 8.8 line and only had to shave a little off the caliper and plug the other hole in the distribution block. Rough Country has already shipped me a new set. I think I am going to just keep them as spares. I don't want to get stuck on another downhill run and have to pinch a line off with vise grips to get back to trailer.

Didn't end up with any photos from the trip. Here is a video that I put together of the footage that was shot on my camera. My camera man was not very experienced at shooting the videos or spotting lol.

The end of the most universal lunch box locker was Sat night lol

nosed down in a hole and it was a sudden stop I think a pin broke. On the next hole buddy was buried up and I pulled cable and hooked to him. I was pulling to him so i put in reverse and was digging in a little and boom. the locker exploded. I got lucky as the only thing that was majorly harmed was the locker. It put a chip in one of the pinion gear teeth but I think it will be fine for a while. I tore it down on the trail to save the gears which took a little while but worth it to save me the time and money on gears. Got my new swampers put on Sat morning before the ride. Finally a matching set haha.

Got her all fixed up from the locker explosion. I chipped a tooth on the pinion but a little light dremel work got her going good.

I have since built a set of Chopped doors and had to rework my front bumper as well as I bought a new Smittybilt 9.5 Gen2 winch. I havent had a chance to use the winch yet but from my tests it seems like it will get the job done.

I also was having shock bottom out issues on the old worn leaves. I built a set of bastard pack springs. I used an 89 S-10 blazer set. It came out fine to me the rear is a little higher than the front but I think it will settle level at some point. Ride quality is wonderful now.
here are the doors

I thought I killed my Tabor 12k winch so I bought a new smittybilt 9.5. turns out the tabor was fine it was just my cable to drum bolt was in too deep and hitting the side plate. I will build a bumper for my Bronco and put it on there in the future. Here is how my redesign bumper came out. I feel it looks alot better than the previous version. I still have a little to finish on the bumper but it is just on the looks department. The structure of this one should not bend or break anywhere.

As you can see both Cherokee's have grown since the beginning of the thread. My buddy is done growing while the XJ will most likely only get bigger.
