Did the hockey puck add ons for my bumpstops. Works good, but I think I am going to look at getting a set of wheels with 4" or 4.25" back spacing. The tire used to eat the fender(you can see previous damage). My current back spacing is 3.75" Also new steering clears oil pan. I took some poser pick before wheeling some.

Got some time the other night to start installing new washer bottle. I know its not a high skilled fab thing but it was needed. The hardest part was taking apart the wire harness to re route the hoses and wires for pump and float sensor. I picked up the bottle form local junk yard. It came out of a 89 xj they recantly got form $ for clunkers deal. Yards around here are littered with great condition parts. Also snagged some other needed items. Bottle was $2.00.
Also reinstalled factory air box. It just runs better with it for some reason.

"Suprise" the altenator died. On the way home from Canton with the kids in the car at night. LOL my daughter couldnt figure out why the heater slowly stopped working and the lights dimmed till they were actracting law enforcement. Made it home, thanks to the Optima battery I've had for about five years now. Got it changed and picked up new wheel hub assy and new greasable u-joints for frt axles. Also picking up a set of DD/ winter wheels with small tires. Pics to follow.

Hey , havent seen you on here in a while. Welcome back.
The progress is actually going in the oppisite direction currently. Pics will explain. Some maintaince needed has led me to go back to the orginal 16" and 32s combo I used to run. Come spring I hope to get some bigger rubber. In the 34" flavor.

Thanks. 34"s would be sick! I've got a good chance at getting a Comanche soon, so I'll build that instead of my 99. For now... haha.

I have it mounted on a stamped section used to mount the factory overhead councle(sp). I just bought a universal brkt. from local electronics supply store and sheet metal screwed it to that. Been hanging there for a while with no problems.

So I figured out my tire clearance issue. 215-75-15 fits on a 4.5 lift, just in case anyone needed to know. What do you think?
I'll be pimpin the stockers till tax return comes in. Than some gears and 34s will be done. Pluse its easier to get in garage while working on rockers. Also need to change pass side axle joint and hub assy.

A comanche! I'd subscribe to that build for sure. Hope it happens for you. I passed on one this summer and have been kicking myself since.

Haha I'm stoked. A friend is holding it for me. It's at a good price. Scored a free 8.8" to slap in there, have other big plans as well... Alright, I'll stop hijacking your thread now.

OK. Finally took some time to start my rockers. Cut the pass side first and test fit the junk I made a couple months ago. Seems to work. Hope to get them on by the end of the month. I plan on welding them at the door sills and pinch seam. After that I'll install some stiffeners, add a TC skid, add some tube to protect doors and tie it all together at the frame. Should add some rigidity to the chassis. This is the first "fab" project I have attempted so any criticism is welcome. Also found this bag at a surplus store for $5.00. I can fit my soft sided tool bag, tow straps, d-rings, fourway, bottle jack , misc parts, all in one bag. Fits good too.

Ok the tube is ready to be installed on the pass side. Capped it yesterday morning. Also practiced more, burning together old rocker material and scrap 3/16s. The weld on the left is with a pot of coffee in my system and the one on the right I have adjusted to work with my uncontroled shaking . Still have to clean up the inside of the rocker too. I think I may through a coat of POR15 on the inside before installing the tubing. MY WELDING SUCKS this is understood, but connot wait any longer for install. I've come to accept I will have a rig that shows my progression in my welds.

man awesome build. Hey quick question for ya. I got a 98 with a snorkel and I have the same washer bottle, since I threw the stock one, doh. Anyways, how hard was it to hook that up in that position? Thats what some guys on here told me to use when doing the whole snorkel thing.

Thanks, the hardest part of the washer install was the wire harness. I took the wrap off the wire harness that has the pump wiring in it. It is located on the drivers side. The wrap is a pian in the butt to get apart. I took it apart and re routed the washer pumps and float sensor wiring back up to the brake booster and seperated it so I could neatly run the wires in the new location. Than mocked up the bottle to fit in the spot where it is now. I got the bottle off an 89 model year I found at the local scrap yard, and paid attention to how it came out . The mounting holes are still part of the 99 stampings. So I didn't have to drill a single hole. The rest was just making sure it fit neatly and didn't rub on anything around it. I also used a newer style pump which sticks straight down. Unlike the 89 pump which sits parrall with the bottle. I mainly did so because I didnt want to cut up the factory harness to accept the older wire connection. I still have to drill the bottle for and wire the level sensor. If you didnt save anything from yours dont worry. Its just as easy to check the level from time to time. The pumps can be bought new for around $20.00 or used for around $5.00. Hope this helps.
