Sorry, no write up. Probably should have, just didn't take any pics while I was doing it. Really straight forward though.

For the gear shift and 4WD selector you just pop up the covers and there is a little socket that houses the bulb. turn half way and pull the bulb harness our of that hole, pull the old bulb out, pop in the LED bulb (those two are a 194 series if you want to get some of amazon they are 6 bucks for 8 of them and you only need 2).

The instrument panel is more tricky. have to take all of the trim and dash around the cluster off, including the bezel that is over the center console and the kick panel over the pedels. pop all that off and you can unscrew the instrument cluster and it pulls right out. you will see 5 little twist ***** (it will be really obvious when you see them as they are brown and line up with the main components of the cluster). 1/2 turn, pull out. pull the old bulbs out, pop in new LEDS (series 74 ) and put them back in. NOTE: polarity is not marked so pop em in, put the panel back in place and note the ones that light up and the ones that dont. for the ones that didnt light up you just need to pull the bulbs out, turn them 180 degrees and pop em back in. put the dash back together, that was the hardest part, and bamo- your jeep is sexyfied.

I might help my roomate ( he has a 97 xj ) do his next weekend and will try to get some pics and do a real write up, but it is really simple and once you start the steps become obvious.

Awesome thanks for the mini write up that makes perfect sense. So was there plenty of room to pull the cluster with the steering wheel in place? Also, do I just search something like "led bulb series 74?"

If you go to superbrightleds.com you can put in you vehicle info then it gives you a list of the zones of bulbs ie: instrument cluster, map light, glove box, etc. under the instrument panel there are a couple different sizes. the 74's are the ones for the insrument panel. it is a little confusing but i guess that relates more to the size of the bulb more than anything. the ones in the shifter are called 194's. if you just google 194 led bulbs you will see what they look like. I know that is kinda confusing but just hop on google and you will have no problem figuring it out good sir.

The SuperBrightLEDs are awesome. I did my dome lights and floor lights. Here's my writeup on this fun little mod...

Has anyone done the ash tray light? Im not sure if they mean the cig lighter light or if there is one for the ash tray. Either way going to get some cool whites for the dome.

no prob man, it is a great sight. little high on price maybe but really good quality. I can also tell you that thier LED's will dim with the switch. alot of the cheap ones you get elsewhere will not dim.
