Sending line for the power steering started leaking, topped it off a few times over the past month and finally got around to actually replacing them. Who decided this hose routing was a good idea? *smacks forehead*
intern1: "Aww, shoot...the feed line is on the wrong side."
intern2:"aww no problem!!" *erases end of tubing in ACAD and draws this silliness*
*interns high five*
Click for full res
This one fought hard...had to pound an 11/16" on the lower side as the 18 was starting to round off.Click for full res

Ordered a gallon of metal prep and metal ready, quart of POR, Azzy's TC linkage, in the process of ordering gears and a locker, finally mocked something up for the nickintimes nifty shifter V1:

This thing is the BOMB, going to be great for trailing and trailering! 😁
Headed back out to STL today, working 10/4s for most of the summer.

96 4.0 Transmission Fluid Cooler Lines
I have a 96 Grand Cherokee which developed a transmission fluid leak in one of the crimped joints in the middle of the Transmission Cooler lines. I got the old lines disconnected and removed with the help of a hack saw but I can't figure out how to route the new lines into position without dropping the exhaust pipe. Can the new lines be "fed" along the exhaust pipe and moved into position or must the exhaust pipe be unbolted from the manifold and dropped down to give clearance for the new lines?
Also, the manual at the local auto parts store recommended Transmax +4 as replacement fluid. I had always used Dex III. Is Transmax +4 ok?

Found a cowl snokel and front driveshaft for $100
Oh boy lots of drummond island mud...whoops
Click for full res
Click for full res
All kinds of dried on mud...
Click for full res
Had to chop up the stock intake tube to fit the new intake tube, guessing they had a ported TB
Click for full res
Definitely not going to fit
Click for full res
This should work!
Click for full res
Click for full res
Traced the hole...a little close to the edge, but I wanted the filter as tight together as it could be
Click for full res
happy little cowl...lol
Click for full res
Lots of room!
Click for full res
That light is going to have to move...
Click for full res
Fits nice
Click for full res
Chrome was flaking off the fake bolt/nut section of the CCV valve...
Click for full res
Yay more room in the engine bay...now for a dual battery setup!
Click for full res
Anyone need cheap junk? lol

Drilled out for Ford style straps, what's with the triangular shaped indents?
Click for full res
This one has indents too...?
Click for full res
Anyone need a rear driveshaft? Still have grease in all the u-joints
Click for full res
Before removing the TC drop, yikes...
Click for full res
After removing the TC drops, should be good with my extended bump stops
Click for full res
less than 500 miles and play in the front pinion...we'll have to see what the dealer says this week, they're on limited hours so will have to call them tomorrow.

Well those came way quicker than I thought I needed them...
Click for full res
Duratracs have weak sidewalls, this was from my snow plowing oops
Click for full res
Super old 31" duratrac, went flat over winter and never bothered to fill it back up...trashed now
Click for full res
Tire shop was available ASAP, yes I had a ratchet strap through them for the 5 blocks I needed to travel...
Click for full res
hover jeep...need to fix the rear brake line on this one one of these days...
Click for full res
Waitin'
Click for full res
~2hrs later
Click for full res
Boom...
Click for full res
...or not...figured I'd need spacers
Click for full res
IRO says the arms should clear 37's...definitely true because these 35's aren't going to clear the frame rail I don't think, lol.
Click for full res
But the poke is better now...
Click for full res
Plenty of vertical clearance with the current bump stops
Click for full res
37's whould probably need a bit more trimmed
Click for full res
Still going to have to chop the front bumper, but not as much as I thought...we'll see how the spacers affect it
Click for full res
Rubs at full lock but has room to push back with the PWM...not sure if I need to do anything about it, might just let it rub for now, shouldn't happen often
Click for full res
kisses the shock mounts at full stop
Click for full res
Dropping coil
Click for full res
The rear has a bit more bump stop left. I'm going to need to clean up this exhaust soon,
Click for full res
Barely kissing while turned
Click for full res
hopefully the spacer doesn't push it into the fender, looks like it should be good
Click for full res
The rear even needs spacers
Click for full res
Depending on flex/how it's sitting the sidewall tread kisses the leaf
Click for full res
Plenty of room in the rear
Click for full res
Click for full res
Might be able to shorten the rear bump stops

Bought some stuff
Click for full res
Click for full res
Click for full res
Pesky buggers, looked abandoned at least
Click for full res
Click for full res
Finally "fixing" my headlights, one leaked water so I decided to put a bunch of dieelectric grease on the rubber boot on the back and even filled the breather holes with dielectric grease, should push out or suck in if the pressure needs too.
Click for full res
Flushing everything
Click for full res
No metal!
Click for full res
Made a little bit of mess...lol
Click for full res
Evaporator had a bunch of gunk and oil...didn't see any shinies though so the old new condenser should still be good!
Click for full res
Not as impressed with the Rampage headlights housings anymore, the finish is almost completely gone on the drivers side...I should probably coat them someday...it's pretty thick aluminum so maybe I'll just leave them, not like you can see it
Click for full res
Click for full res
almost 30inHg, it held for over 30mins
Click for full res
moved my trans lines to the cooler to different holes in the front cross member, now the winch receiver tube won't hit them
Click for full res
Click for full res
ran the heat for a bit since it was just over 60F outside
Click for full res
minute or so later!
Click for full res
Almost 40F at idle!
Click for full res
This was super easy to put on! I recently fixed the lower hinge pin, again, but not soon enough to prevent pretty much the whole bottom section from ripping through and the top was about to let loose, literally took 5 mins to install! Fastest, most functional Jeep project ever! I think I need to replace my top pin now too though eBay Link

took my Jeep to the beach since A/C!!!!
