Since the shims were different I put the one I had in and left the nut a bit loose...If I tightened it down the clutch was engaged full time...

Has yours had the recall performed? You can get a free hitch from the dealership. I did that on my newer ZJ. They broke a tap off in the frame so I'm down one bolt til I break that out.

Yup you can go on the Jeep website type in your Vin and find the recall notice if you really want. Just don't wait too long as they can "run out" of the warranty supplies.

yeah im tired of the zj it left me stranded the trans line just come off and lost all the atf im ready to make the change to the well know XJ with a manual trans and 4X4 or if there is a way to make the zj from automatic to standard cause now the trans is slipping but the motor only has 175,000 miles so it probably worth getting a xj with a blown motor give me your opions im open to any of them

If you have enough will and are handy with a wrench you can swap in a manual. There's a post on YouTube where a guy swapped in the 5 speed (nv3500 iirc) from a Dodge ram to his 5.2L ZJ.

Is yours a 5.2 or I6?

Yup on both accounts. The ZJ still looks better than the new Jeeps...IMO though, lol. The 5.2 make the ZJs way more fun to drive.

AX15 should bolt up. Would still have to do some modifications to get the computer to be happy but it should be similar to what the other guy did.
