So I was going through some older pictures and came across this one. It's been my avatar for a little while but I never did put up a good viewing of it. It left me with a nice dent just in front of the rear passenger wheel well.

Well a small update...Yesterday I purchased 2 different speakers. I went in looking for a Kicker CVT but the audio place I went to couldn't get them in. So, I walked out with a Kicker CVR 2ohm and a Kenwood 12. Only reason I got the Kenwood is because it was on sale for dirt cheap. I ran the Kenwood this morning and played with my amp but it didnt quite have the kick I wanted. I swapped it out for the Kicker and on my drive home from work we will see how that sounds. I'll be returning the Kenwood this afternoon and possibly the Kicker if it isnt quite there either. But, I have a good feeling the Kicker will be perfect...they always have been in the past for me.

So I got a good deal on some 97 sport seats. Paid 30 a piece for them. I fabbed up some very very simple brackets to mount them on my factory sliders. Here's a pic of my crude but effective brackets and the final product.

They're just as solid as the original seats that were there. It's really a piece of cake. Only thing I messed up on mine is the driver's seat is moved toward the center a little more than I wanted. All I bought was a 4' piece of 3" wide by 1/8" thick steel. I then drilled holes to line up with the seat bottoms and then with the sliders. Only thing not "structurally sound" on these are the seat bottoms. I wasn't expecting that much rust. I had to put in a few tack welds to strengthen them up a bit.

I've thought about welding it directly to the seat bottom but still bolting to the slider. These seats aren't gonna be perminant. These are just to get me out of my crappy, worn out origninals until I can invest in a nice set of aftermarket ones.

So after work last night I built another sub box for the Jeep. The first one I built was set to run a speaker with a mounting depth 5.5" or less. My plan was to purchase a Kicker CVT to replace the Boston I had in there for the time being but I couldn't find anyone near me that could stock them. I could have ordered it but the only places I found to order it were sketchy.
So, I puchased a Kicker CVR at a local car audio shop sense they were having a huge sale on all Kicker products. The new box is the same demensions as the original, just the cut out for the speaker has been moved toward the rear about 2 inches. Here's the final product. I think it came out damn good if I do say so myself.
I'll get better pics at lunch today

I've thought about making a few more of those boxes to sell but I'm not sure if there would be enough interest or what kind of price I should ask.

Here's a better pick and one to show how much space I still have. I wish I could find one of my original set up to really show you the comparison of how much space I actually gained.
