92 2dr in the works

So I'm a college student who had a few hobbies that just didn't work out so here's my newest one.

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...kidz/jeep3.jpg

So now a little history on this one. If was government owned and used within the forestry department. It was sold last November at a government auction and bought by a small town farmer. When it was sold to him it had 69k on the odometer. He then put a 3in Skyjacker lift with nitro shocks. Add Maxxis Bighorn 31x10.5 tires with Cragar 15x8 wheels. He owned the Jeep until it was sold to me in August with 70k miles on it. It was just a basic model with no extra goodies except the lift and tires before I bought it.

Sense purchasing, the following has been done:
Brush gaurd
6in fogs
Kicker speakers in the doors, dash, and sound bar
JVC head unit
Kenwood amp w/ 2 12in Boston woofers
Used center console sense it didn't have one and I can't find them new

After doing all of that I decided it was time to see what it had.

It did just well but a few concerns came about. The rear leaf springs are separating and now I am squatting quite a bit. So, I've decided I want to purchase a Rough Country 6.5in kit and just redo it all.

Let me know what you think,

Adam

Nice, did you order a HnT/SYE and DS with your 6.5 inch lift? Thought about swaping the brush guard for a bumper thats a little stronger than stock?

adamk 11-20-2010 08:30 PM

I didn't order them from Rough Country with the kit. A local store has the hack and tap kit for a decent price and I'm not sure of the length of a driveshaft I'll need yet.

I've been looking into a wench ready bumper for the front but haven't settled on one yet. The brush guard was actually a lucky find. I went to a junk yard near school and happened to walk by a Cherokee with it on it. Got the whole thing for 45 bucks.

You can use the front ds from the XJ.

I'd suggest you look into the Staangs Fab bumper. The thing is ridiculously strong(installed one before) and its even designed so that your winch cant be stolen. I know they're in the process of designing a bumper w/o the winch which will give extreme approach angle. I'll be ordering that one.

nice rig though i would lose the grill "wrecker" guard seen more then a few cause major damage on the trails.

and when your doing playing in the mud your not far from URE in Troy some good trails there

What ya doing with that lift on there now? Lol I need one. Nice rig dude.

adamk 11-20-2010 09:52 PM

Ive looked into heading out to Uwharrie and hitting some trails. I've got a few buddies that are still getting their trucks together and then we will head out.

Once I get the new lift on, I'll sell the one that's on it now.

Let me know.

nice little rig!

Well I came home a little early for Thanksgiving break and had the whole day to myself and decided to tighten up some loose ends here and there and ended up with this.

I pulled off the fender flares to get ready to cut. I probably won't cut them until Christmas time because I'm headed up to NY tomorrow til Sunday and then its straight back to school.

I also stripped, and repainted the brush guard.

Finally got some more work done over the past week. Here's what's been done.

Replaced passenger hub assembly. The bearings were so bad that i could grab the end of it and shake it up and down almost a full inch. I had to do all this in the parking lot on campus because there was no way I would be driving home for the holidays with it as bad as it was.

And the new

Then when I got home this morning from finishing up the semester, I decided to go ahead and start working on the fenders. I got the rears completely finished and I will be doing the fronts tomorrow.

I'll get more pics of the front tomorrow when I do it.

Here's a picture from Sunday in the snow. The front fenders are cut and all of them have been sprayed with Duplicolor bedliner. I've also sold the brush guard to prepare for a new winch bumper.

Currently in the works is a roof rack. I got it all welded up today and I will go for paint tomorrow. Pics will come as soon as it's done
