At work we had to put a winch on display but with something being on display, you can't put the accessories out because they get stolen. So, I asked my manager what he was gonna do with all the extras and he said trash them. I asked to take them and he said sure. So I walked out with a free fairlead, control box, all wiring, and remote. Then I got lucky on craigslist one day and found a winch that was solely the motor, casing, and line and it was brand new. I put it all together and BAM! she worked and I have a 9000lb winch that I paid a whole 50 bucks for.

Yea I got some really good deals at the beginning of this summer. Well I just sold the D30 locker for 200 so I'll be looking to purchase some more parts. I've also got my factory tow hooks and brakets for sale now so hopefully someone picks those up soon.

I love finds like that... so far my luck has just been with tires, but still luck is luck. Got a set of rims and tires for the s10 that I had for 120 bucks... tires were only about 4 months old and the rims were 15'8 aluminums in perfect condition... then a year after I got rid of it and got the heep, I got a the tires I have on now off of CL for 200... tires have probably 3/4 of the tread on them, just have a little bit of dry rot... they don't leak any air though so I think I did pretty good with them.

I'd love to find a good deal on some 33's but I believe my luck is running out on all these good deals.

Ok, so I'm doing a terrible job with putting up pictures but that will all change this evening when I get some. Just gotta upload them to photobucket.

Another update...I just purchased a set of used adj. upper control arms so those should be coming in within the next week or so.

Also...question for yall...I dropped my driver's side tie-rod end to make replacing the axle seal easier. Well, upon doing so, I noticed that the tie rod clamp is as tight as it could be BUT the tie rod end can spin freely. This seems to be the cause of my alignment issues. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? My brain only came up with cutting some more notches in the end of the tie rod so it can compress in more and tighten down on the tie rod end.

Time for a new tierod... or tierod sleeve. Did you do the V8 ZJ tierod swap yet?

Well I've already priced out that ZJ swap and I think I'm just going to go with that. It'll cost me about 75 bucks for all new parts to do it. Then once I get these upper control arms on, I'll go get a good alignment.

Sounds like a plan to me.

So about 45 minutes after that post I went out and got the V8n ZJ tie-rod parts. Cost me a whole $70 at the local parts shop. I'll do the swap this weekend after my concealed carry class

Yes it is. My dad has been after me for the past year about getting it but the funds and time for it weren't there while I was off at school. Now that I'm home for the summer I have more time. It also helps that my 22nd bday was Wednesday and my dad is paying for the class for me as a gift.
